Just in time for fall, the new TransFOURmer coat from the Rachel Rachel Roy collection is not only super chic, but smart and thrifty too! As seen in Real Simple magazine, the Transfourmer coat is one coat that can be unzipped and worn in 4 different ways. Remove the bottom for a chic motorcycle jacket look or take off the sleeves and bottom for a twist on a vest. The inside is lined with Rachel's signature graffiti print, for an unexpected pop of color. Hot Leggings For Fall's Cold Weather

    image

Why not add a whole new meaning to the term "hot pants?" Most of the time, all we ask of our leggings is that they're comfortable and versatile enough to throw underneath our favorite tops. When the colder weather strikes, however, we need a lil' something extra if we plan on leaving the house. The blustery winds can be enough to make you want to wear nothing but sweats, but the change of season doesn't mean you need to sacrifice looking cute in order to stay warm. Whether you're sick of them or not, leggings aren't going anywhere soon, so while that's more than we can say about summer, we've got some cold-weather safe picks to add to your legging collection Heavier fabrics from jeans and sweater materials to velvet and suede are one way to keep your tush toasty. And don't underestimate simple additions such as patches, zips and buttons to give your garment just a little something extra when facing the fall. Regardless of temperature, any of this season's takes on the now-staple, skin-tight classic are bound to make you look hot: it's not about the warmth your leggings will bring you this upcoming season -- it's about the heat the new season will bring to your leggings to make you look hotter than ever!

Coquette Is Lovin' The Zipper Look!

    image
Natalie Zee Drieu on Sep 30, 2009 5:25 AM PDT
Earlier in June I posted some cute outfits and accessories with zippers. Well the zipper trend is even stronger this fall, making its way to even more clothing and accessories. I love this Mason by Michelle Mason Zip Shirtdress ($407 at Shopbop) to pair over leggings or tights and this simple Loeffler Randall Double Zipper Top (On Sale for $120.40). Both say stylish without going over the edge in punk. As for accessories, these grey Ruffle Zipper Pumps are beyond adorable... and if you have any money left after splurging on all these cute finds, keep your change in this Colorblock Zipper Wallet! See more at Coquette!

How To Sew An Exposed Zipper

    image

Nicole Smith is an editor at CraftStylish, a site dedicated to fashionable how-tos and do-it-yourself crafts. Below she introduces a fun project in which you can embellish clothing yourself with exposed zippers.

Zippers have come a long way over the years; they're used in everything from garments and shoes to accessories and home decor. You may install a zipper simply to let you in and out of a garment, but why not make it stylish at the same time? In the Spring '09 issue of SewStylish, couture sewer Anna Mazur showed you how to insert zippers four ways. Here is one of the techniques inspired by many designers including Marni. When installing an exposed zipper, you can throw all the zipper-insertion rules out the window. Turn the seam allowances to the right side, topstitch the zipper over them to conceal the fabric edges, and let the zipper tape show on the outside of the garment. You can choose a matching or contrasting zipper for even more stand-out style. Click on over to the CraftStylish blog for the full step-by-step instructions... then get sewing!
