Jet Set Travel Essential: White And Warren's Travel Wrap

    image

I love having something cozy to travel in. I always cram the most I can into the smallest amount of space. This "something cozy" must be light weight, wrinkle-free and easily rolled then shoved into my carry on. I've found the perfect thing: the White and Warren Travel Wrap. At first I thought it was one of those drapey, wrappy cardigans, but it's actually a long, luscious scarf made out of comfy jersey t-shirt fabric. And it comes in just about any color you can imagine, so it helps make your travel outfit that much more fashionable. You could easily get away with wearing a black tunic and leggings, or a jeans and a white tank and throwing one of these on. The travel wrap is long and wide and can double as a travel throw, but since it's made of t-shirt fabric it can easily fit in small spaces. Scarves are a must-have when traveling and flying, and this one is a perfect addition to your airplane wardrobe - plus it'll be great to have when you get to your destination, too, whether it's winter or summer! Cold Feet? Try A Chilly Weather Wedding Wrap!

The last thing you'll want on your wedding day is to be cold, so if you're tying the knot in fall, winter or spring, you may want a nice, warm compliment to your gown. It's true that you'll want to flaunt your lavishly conditioned skin and hot bod that you've been working on during your pre-nuptial planning, so your gown may be missing a few pieces here and there -- probably in vulnerable areas such as the neck, back and shoulders. Depending on how harsh your location will be, someone's thought of something to make the temperature of your big day an afterthought. In lace or feather, there's a shrug, wrap or jacket for any weather. See the slideshow for some of our favorite picks!

Recession Chic: Vintage Finds For $50 Or Less!

    image

The Commerce Department released GDP figures recently and-- gulp!--we saw the biggest decline in over 25 years. In layman's terms, that means that we fashionistas will be minding our pocketbooks for a while. But that doesn't mean we'll stop shopping entirely. I mean, the economy might be in a tailspin, but oh, the bargains! Stores are practically giving things away! I don't think I've ever seen so many full page Bloomingdale's ads that feature the word "SALE." And Macy's is advertising values up to $100 for the low, low price of $4.99! My parents grew up during the Depression and went through some pretty tough times, so I was taught how to be frugal. In times like these, you need to pay a little more attention to quality over quantity, choose classics over trends, look for items that can do double duty, and hunt for bargains. And vintage fashionistas can find bargains galore on eBay and Etsy! Just click the slideshow to see a selection of great vintage items that are all $50 or less!

Fashion is undoubtedly becoming more and more influenced by political and social causes around the world. Look no further than Barack Obama's appearance at Paris Fashion Week for proof. And why not? It can be a great way to express your views and create dialogue without even speaking a word. For something a little different than your standard message t-shirt, wrap up in a scarf like this one by Sir Alistair Rai. Spotted on countless celebrities, they are one-of-a-kind pieces made by hand by artisans in India, and each one is hand-painted with a Hindu prayer and words like "peace," "hope," "love," and "karma." With all the war in the world, why not choose to wear one of these beautiful scarves and support peace in your own little way this winter? You really can't go wrong!
