Embrace Your Inner Child And Throw On A Duffle Coat!

On some of the coldest days of winter, I like to take style cues from one of my childhood storybook characters, Paddington Bear. By wearing a thick duffle coat (also known as a toggle coat) with a pair of wellies and floppy hat, I'm ready to face the day! Dating back to the British Royal Navy in the early 1900s, duffle coats rose to popularity in the 1960s and remain a winter wardrobe staple today. We've come a long way from the days of plain camel-colored duffle coats. These days you can find duffle coats in different colors and styles. Take a look at this bright cherry red coat from Guess. You'll definitely stay warm with this hooded wool coat lined with Thinsulate! Whether you call them duffle coats or toggle coats, take a look at my slideshow for more!

Counter The Marshmallow Effect With Stylized Puffer Coats!

Staying warm in the winter can be a big challenge. In below-freezing conditions, how is a fashionista to maintain her hotness? The answer: stylized puffer coats, which take the marshmallow out of the equation with leaner silhouettes. Juicy Couture created the Lady Puffer Coat with Fur Trim, which manages to do warm and elegant all at once. I also love the pop-tones of Calvin Klein's Quilted Down Jacket, which would look just stunning against the snow. Check out my SLIDESHOW for plenty of puff-tastic options!

Warm Up Your Winter Style In A Cozy Cape!

The winter wind chill always welcomes our beloved coats back into our wardrobe, but often times we can get stuck in the hum-drum routine of grabbing the same old coat every day, day after day. That's why every winter I try to find new and different ways to stay warm and stylish and this year's no different. My style solution to this winter's wardrobe is the cape. Cape, cloak, poncho-- whatever you want to call it, you know what I'm talking about and if you haven't had the pleasure of wearing one of these marvelous forms of outerwear, then I urge you to make it your next fashion purchase. Honestly, wearing a cape feels like bundling up in a cozy blanket, while still somehow receiving the eye-envy of everyone around you! Wear a cape style that is clean and chic like this INC cape, or be playful in something like Henrik Vibskov's poncho. Whatever style you sport, you're sure to stay warm this winter without wearing out your style. Click on the slideshow to see some of our favorites!

Black Friday may not be an official US holiday, but so many people have the day off that it may as well be! Of course, most folks won't be heading to parks or beaches or any of those other normal vacation spots. Nope, on Black Friday, fashionistas all over the country will be hitting the malls, the boutiques, and the shopping plazas along with a few bazillion other people. Not me though. This year I've decided to relax at home with a good cup of coffee and get a headstart on Cyber Monday. And why not? With so many great online vintage boutiques, there's no reason to battle the crowds. Just take a look at this collection of Black Friday finds and you may be inspired to trade in your car keys and start punching computer keys. Just click the slideshow to see the selections.

All three brands feature stylish outerwear that have additional eye-catching elements such as large brass buttons and studs, fur-lined hoods, and toggle button details. And what coat or jacket would look crisp and chic without a fresh pair of skinny denim jeans by Tripp NYC?
