Hot In The Hive: Revo Heritage Table Radio

    image

Sure, retro "gadgets" may look cool in a stylishly old-fashioned sort of way, but when it comes to actually using them, our geeky reliance on modern-day tech has us too cyber-spoiled and impatient to put any effort in something that can't keep up with our 3G speediness. The solution? A techie piece of equipment that just looks vintage, but packs all the convenient specs and capabilities of the most recent releases in the gadget world. The Revo Heritage Table Radio has the 60s-style walnut veneer surface, but boasts some seriously modern features in that retro-looking package: an iPod dock, WiFi for all your favorite internet stations, wireless streaming from your laptop, a remote control for maximum laziness, and even an alarm clock in case you doze off while listening to your tunes. It's the perfect device for the music lover who may have an old soul... but secretly can't live without a healthy dose of modern tech!

Get Wired And Stay At The Pod Hotel In New York City!

When I travel, I either like to stay at a hostel that costs less than a meal or in a swanky suite with a view. I realized that t the end of the day, a room is just a place to sleep in and to store all my purchases! Nonetheless, when I do travel on the cheap, that means I'm sacrificing modern comforts like free wifi and flat screen televisions. That's not the case if I ever want to go to New York City on a budget. The Pod Hotel is located conveniently in Midtown Manhattan and has everything you need to stay in comfort without breaking the bank. Choose from a townhouse studio or share bunk beds with a friend, all rooms have free wifi, LCD televisions, and an iPod dock. Some rooms have shared bathrooms, but that could be a great way to meet people from around the world. The Pod Hotel even has their own forum page where you can ask questions and find people to hang out with during your stay. Check out my slideshow to see what living in a pod would look like starting at $99 a night!

Hot In The Hive: The Nabaztag Rabbit Wi-Fi Device!

If you've ever gone to a pet store and had the urge to compulsively take home one of those little bunnies in the shop window (I know Easter is approaching, but it's not a good idea -- you can take my word for it), tech wizards Nabaztag have the perfect companion you won't have to clean up after! The Nabaztag Rabbit is a Wi-Fi capable little critter-device who connects to the internet and reads you your e-mail, provides weather forecasts, checks up on the stock market, plays podcasts and internet radio, and even breaks into song when a friend sends you a message! With its sleek compact design and customizable ears available on their website store, the Nabaztag bunny simply sits peacefully on your desktop, flapping its ears and blinking its happy medley of lights, taking up much less space than a real rabbit and not leaving trails of Easter basket grass all around the house like its holiday counterpart. Show me any live rabbit that can read aloud in 16 different languages instead of just eating, pooping, and shedding all day, and maybe I'll change my mind, but for now I have to say Nabaztag's bunny is looking like the much wiser (and maybe even cuter) investment!
