    LA Fashion Week: Whitley Kros Makes Living Out of a Suitcase ...

    For their Spring 2009 collection, Whitley Kros designers Sophia Banks and Marissa Ribisi took us on an international adventure through Morocco, Greece and Africa, all without leaving L.A.! Their line featured romantic prints and loose silhouettes in oh-so-soft fabrics such as silk, cotton, and chiffon. It's easy to live out of a suitcase if you have nothing but clothes from Whitley Kros as every look could easily be matched with one another. Some favorite looks included a tunic with cut-out diamond shapes at the neckline or a sheer sky blue leopard print dress paired with chunky Doc Martens.     L.A. Runway Report: Whitley Kros Line Goes Great With Beck ...

    It's not every designer who will trust her husband to program the music for her biggest fashion show ever. But when you are Marissa Ribisi, half of the design team (with partner Sophia Coloma) behind the fun, flirty Whitley Kros label, and your husband happens to be Beck, the trust is warranted. The crowd at the packed L.A. Fashion Week show was shimmying in their seats for one colorful WK ensemble after another. But the highlight had to be Kirstie Alley's impossibly cute little 13-year old daughter Lillie in what Kirstie told me before the show was her first runway sashay! Proud papa Parker Stevenson must have taken 300 pics of his kid's fashion debut. That serene family scene exemplified the cute, innocent, yet confident line.

    I'm running around L.A. Fashion Week with a crack ABC/SOAPNet camera crew all week interviewing celebrities, designers, and random fashionistas as they hit the fall shows at Smashbox Studios. One of my favorite interviews so far was with Danny Masterson and Giovanni Ribisi at the Whitley Kros show. Giovanni's sister Marissa is half of the design team behind the line, and her posse was out in full. But as you'll find out in my exclusive interview, Giovanni and Danny think they deserve, well, all of the credit for her line, and are looking forward to rearranging their acting schedules to focus like lasers on their own fashionisto dreams.
