Shop For Chic Jewelry And Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

    image

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so while we may be thinking of dark fall colors, it's definitely time to think pink instead. I'm not the biggest fan of wearing t-shirts with words or ribbons so I'm doing my part in the cause by adding some jewelry to my wardrobe instead. Various designers and retailers have partnered together to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Network of Strength, Susan G. Komen Foundation and other research efforts. That means the money you used for the bling you're wearing went to an amazing cause. Talk about guilt free shopping! Some of my favorite pieces include Avanessi One Love bracelet where 15% of sales will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. I also really like the bold pink strap and watch face of the Francine Patent BCRF Watch by Coach. Take a look at my slideshow for some of my favorite jewelry that supports breast cancer research and awareness!

Bib Necklaces: Definitely Not Child's Play

Bib necklaces have been around for many seasons now, but it seemed like the Fall 2009 runways like Marni, Marc Jacobs, and Dior were filled with these eye catching necklaces. And who could forget the amazing Fred Leighton bib necklace Amy Adams wore at the 2009 Academy Awards! Bib necklaces can be found in all shapes and sizes so it's easy to find one that can match your mood or personality. While I've found some in the $800 range at Saks, there are plenty of under $100 options that make this trend totally accessible. The Stellae Necklace is a subtle and bling-less take on the bib necklace, or you can go all out with the Jet/Crystal Bib Necklace. Wear your bib necklace when it's just a jeans and t-shirt day for a touch of glamour or with a strapless gown for maximum impact. Take a look at my slideshow for more showstopping bib necklaces, and remember, these won't help when you're enjoying your lobster!

Add A Light Layer To Your Summer Look With A Draped Vest

Sometimes all those layers can get a little stuffy... especially during summer. But you don't have to skip out on that draped and layered look when you've got a vest to hang on your shoulders. Add a hip piece that won't keep you sweltering with a long vest that wraps your shoulders like a scarf. Paired with summer staples like shorts and tank tops, it's a cute and comfortable alternative to your fitted button-up vests, but the look of a sleeveless cardigan sweater makes this vest a more casual layer. Some drape over like a curtain, lending a richer and more delicate style. These accessories will prove even more valuable on a chilly night, as well as into the fall season when you actually will need something to shelter your shoulders. Check out the long vests in this slideshow and treat your trendy self to an edgy, layered look!
