Beauty Pick Me Up - How To Weatherproof Your Look!

It's nice to wake up in the morning, go through your regular beauty and preparation routine and look in the mirror and love what you see. The hair is perfectly coiffed, the eyeliner and mascara immaculately applied and everything is just one stylishly cohesive look. Then you step out and it's rainy and damp and windy.
Sigh.
As romantic and beautiful as a rainy day can be, it's definitely no friend to our expertly applied make-up and styled hair. A look that is never a good one is running rivulets of black make-up, smeared and blotchy face powder and frizzed-out, unmanageable hair. This is a dilemma that we'll all be facing numerous times throughout this wet season, so we've decided to put a stop to it once and for all!
While we can't change the weather patterns, we can use a few tricks of the trade to make sure our look stays fresh and clean, despite the outside weather that is set on tearing our look apart. Waterproof mascaras and eyeliners are a must, and hair products that encourage curls and waves are more suitable than finishing products that sleek and straighten. Need coverage or a subtle tint on your face? Steer away from powders that turn sticky and uneven in the wet and opt for a smoothing primer and cream finishes.

It seems like every time the word winter is mentioned, we automatically think snow and what to wear to fend against it. It doesn't snow everywhere though, and in some places, winter means wind and rain. But no matter what the weather is like by you, these cunning constellations still have the power to predict what you'll be needing for your busy week ahead! I personally hail from Seattle and if there's anything you should know about Seattle, it's that it's famous for coffee and rain. So while magazines and stores were boasting cozy knits and stylish suede jackets and boots, my fellow rain-dwellers and I were mainly concerned with staying dry and warm and looking cute in the process. Although storm clouds may have put the stars into hiding, their messages are still clear. Check out my slideshow to see some of my favorite wet weather styles, and find the best one for your sign!
