Trendy Tie-Dyed Pieces That Don't Look Like You Made Them At ...

What is it about tie-dye that seems to just ooze summer spirit? I don't know if it's the bright colors or the fond memories of wringing out freshly-dipped t-shirts on the backyard lawn, but I was always secretly rooting for a tie-dye comeback that didn't look too homemade or too hippie. As if the almighty trendsetters read my mind (it's about time!), tie-dye has been sprouting up all over the place -- high-end and affordable retailers alike -- in every place imaginable, from shoes to shades! While stereotypically the print has always been associated with peace signs, flower children, and campy arts and crafts, this season it's keeping it casual with thong sandals and dressing it up in the form of sexy minidresses. Still not convinced? Take a look at the slideshow and see for yourself how today's tie-dye has gone from hippie to hip!

Ditch The Wayfarers And Get A Pair Of Circle Sunglasses!

It's been said once and again, Mary-Kate Olsen is a trendsetter. A ways back she stood out in her circle shades in a sea of Wayfarer wearing celebs. A few months later a diverse set of designers like Proenza Schouler, Karen Walker and Ralph Lauren sent their models down the runway wearing, you guessed it... circular sunglasses. Slowly but surely you are seeing people put down the tried and true square glasses for a fresher look, a circle shade. If you want some "look at me" sunglasses, the circle is where it's at. Small little O's give a great 60's John Lennon feel that bring you right back to days of peace and love. Try some purple "Super Duper" Karen Walker shades or if you're not ready for the $200 dollar investment go for a pair from Urban Outfitters. Still hanging on to the big stunner shades look? You can still go circular! Try some oversized circles a la Nicole Richie for a 1970's beach party look. Check out the slideshow to see some totally circular styles.

I was starting to get sick of seeing Ray-Ban Wayfarers on every person under the age of 40, until they did something that made them cooler than ever. The new Sunglass Hut/Ray Ban Artist series is enlisting NYC based painter Chris Mendoza to paint the frames with his South American Graffiti-esque flavor. This Friday, Nov 28th ( otherwise known as black Friday) the artist will be customizing 100 pairs of the glasses in-store at the Sunglass Hut in Soho. The sunglasses will be available for $250 to buy in the spot or on sunglasshut.com starting December 3rd. Not only will you score some one of a kind shades, but you'll also be helping out-- 25% of the proceeds go to Give The Gift Of Sight, a charity that brings glasses and vision care to those in need around the world. In the NYC area? Read on to find out how you can pick up your own pair.

As summer nears its end, I'm trying to get the most out of all the comfy trends this season offered: maxi dresses, flowing tunics, playsuits...and the t-shirt dress. The best part about the latter is its versatility so I highly recommend purchasing one immediately if you don't own a version (check out my hive for a bunch of great options). Once you've found your fave, here's some inspiration on working the basic cotton frock for every activity. Click READ MORE to see how I made three looks from one James Perse t-shirt dress!

Okay, so we don't all have time to run off the job and head to the coast once we see the glimmer of a fantastic sunbathing day. But I always thought that if I dressed like I was headed toward the beach, I would have the sunny coastal attitude all day, even if it was spent inside. Wishful thinking? Let's hope not! These two-timing finds are perfect whether you're in the sand or on the concrete. Find out whose dress is dreamily reminiscent of an off-the-shoulder draped sarong or which Ray-Ban shades have made a splashing comeback. Click on the SLIDESHOW to see how and where you can bring the sun and surf into your day!
