Small Space Storage Solutions For The Closet-less Fashionista

    image
Anna Yu on окт 26, 2009 8:23 AM PDT
Lately I've been looking at apartments with some friends who are looking to move to a new place. While many have spacious kitchens, lots of windows, and large bedrooms, I've found that some have tiny closets or no closet at all! I'm certainly not a fan of using the hallway closet to hold all of my clothes along with the vacuum cleaner, but there are definitely options that can keep your clothes safely in your room. If you have a small closet, keep all your dresses, shirts, and pants inside the closet. Then make the most of your free wall space by adding something like the Fleur-De-Lys Hook Rack to hang your jackets and coats. For larger storage solutions for the closet-less, go for an armoire like this bamboo wardrobe (cute dog not included). An armoire may seem like a fortune to spend, but if you get a quality piece you love, you'll keep it forever. Lastly, for the minimalist (in style and budget), a simple rolling rack may do just fine for less than $20. Take a peek at my slideshow to see it all!

    CollegeCandy Wishlist: Denim, Or Sweats?

When it comes to many things in life, including fashion, I'm a fan of odd, quirky things that leave people asking questions. No, I'm not going to start wearing fairy wings like one of the girls on What Not To Wear, but I did pick up a pair of pants last week that totally fit the bill. They were a pair of skinny denim-like pants by Fragile that I scored at T.J. Maxx for $17, but normally retail for $29 (sweet!) at Hot Topic, a store I haven't stepped into since my friend's goth days in high school. Anyway, the pants look like jeans, but function somewhat like sweatpants in that you basically pull them on and button the single button at the top. I would say that they are comparable to denim leggings, although I prefer these Fragile pants since they look more like jeans and aren't as skintight. These pants are definitely the answer to every college girl's fashion dilemma: chic sweatpants? That you can wear to class? And not look sloppy? I think it's time we all made a run to Hot Topic! Hive 5: Wheel a Chic Trunk Through The Airport, Just Like the ...

While I can't imagine dragging a trunk through a crowded airport terminal, there is something romantic about the notion of pulling your wardrobe out of a trunk while traveling the world. One of the biggest draws to peruse Louis Vuitton for me is the opportunity to ogle their display of vintage trunks. In an effort to regain their potential practicality I'll give you three proposals: your trunk could be a coffee table, it could be storage for your out of season clothing, or as you'll soon discover it could be your vanity. For a trunk to hold all of your beauty needs look to the Conran makeup trunk, for an option on wheels check out Bolsa Luggage, and for a small carrying case, Prada has got you covered. To find all this and much more check out my SLIDESHOW. Bon Voyage!

Sexy Style: 5 Hot Thongs That Put Fashion First

Those of us with highly conservative friends know that we often have to espouse the functional benefits of thongs. For instance, a good laser cut seamless nude thong completely eliminates the appearance of panty lines under even the thinnest of white pants. That has obvious benefits for the summer wardrobe. I spend most of my days helping women find the right underwear for their outfits. So, the function of their underwear often takes precedence over the fashion. Still, there is something about the thong that is just plain hot, and I know that my friends here in the Hive are happy to celebrate fashion over function. With that in mind, check out the SLIDESHOW presenting 5 hot thongs!

Stylediarist Renee-Zoe maintains her style in any climate, and for any occasion. A resident of Melbourne, Australia, this 18 year old claims she doesn't really have a definitive look, but tries to make her outfits pulled-together and simple. Utilizing lots of black basics and earthy accent tones, each and every one of her outfits is perfectly urban-chic. Her Stylediary boasts intriguing vintage accessories and a truly innovative use of tights. This girl's wardrobe seems to be ready for everything from a cocktail party to a rock concert. I do have to disagree with her though, She does have a "look" and she wears it well. Check out my SLIDESHOW to view my favorite pics from Renee-Zoe's Stylediary.
