Ever wish you could go online on those long holiday cross-county flights? Wish no more because it has come true! Earlier this week, Virgin America launched its first Wi-Fi enabled plane with Gogo Inflight Internet and the first ever "air-to-ground" video stream to YouTube Live €“ YouTube's first official real-world user event. Virgin America's Wi-Fi enabled plane circled the skies 35,000 feet above San Francisco with special guests, media, and all-star bloggers testing out Gogo on laptops, smartphones and PDAs. Also onboard, Los Angeles DJ Jesse 'BoyToy' Lozano did a live broadcast while NBC 30 Rock stars Katrina Bowden and Keith Powell performed a live "YouTube Air" skit streamed to the YouTube Live audience on the ground and on-line. The Wi-Fi enabled aircraft will be flying all over the U.S. as a Thanksgiving surprise to guests, and by 2009, Virgin America will be the first U.S. carrier to offer fleet-wide inflight internet!

If you haven't flown Virgin America yet, you should. The planes are all new, with leather seating, chill ambient music and lighting, amazing multimedia consoles that allow you to play games, watch movies, listen to music, and order food and drinks whenever you want, instead of at appointed times like on most other airlines. But apparently that wasn't enough for owner Richard Branson, as they are now rolling out a campaign touting the fact that every seat has its own electrical outlet!

After flying from New York to Los Angeles on Virgin America's super-sexy new plane with a half dozen Victoria's Secret supermodels in their pajamas, its really impossible to ever fly some normal, blah airline with a bunch of normal-bodied, non-supermodel passengers ever again. It would just be too depressing. So, from now on its trains, boats, and hot air balloons for me. But it was so worth it.
