Update A Black Jumpsuit Like Kristen Bell

    image
Sabrina Newman on Sep 29, 2009 2:19 PM PDT
At the Teen Choice Awards, the adorable Kristen Bell kept it funky, fashion-forward, and just the right touch of sexy with an ensemble that mixed high and low-end buys. Kristen went for one of this season's must-have pieces, the black jumpsuit, opting for a plunging style from Topshop. She enlivened the look with some standout accessories including a colorful Vera Wang rhinestone necklace, gold and diamond necklaces from Jennifer Meyer jewelry, metallic strappy sandals from Jimmy Choo, and a lime green Bally frame clutch. A black jumpsuit like this one is highly versatile and is the perfect backdrop for an array of fabulous accessories, giving you the freedom to express your personal style. Pair it with heavy chains and a leather cuff for an edgy style, piles of bangles for a more boho look, or with muted accessories for a polished look. Check out my slideshow to rock it like Kristen!

    Sesame Street Gets Fashionable!

As far as we can tell, Sesame Street doesn't really follow the latest fashion trends. I mean, when was the last time you saw Oscar the Grouch or Big Bird change their outfit? But now things might be changing on the block, with a little help from Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, some very special guests are coming to the block. Harper's Bazaar paired up the show's most lovable characters with some hot fashion designers. And then we realized that maybe Oscar the Grouch does know a thing or two about fashion. According to him, "Hey, I invented grunge! It's a look I've been sporting for years!" We bet Oscar de la Renta can help Oscar the Grouch class up his grunge look a bit.

This past Wednesday night, New York's Museum of Modern Art was abuzz with some of the world's most chic elite as they mingled at the NYC premiere of The September Issue. The film, which hits theaters on Friday, documents the inner workings of Anna Wintour and her Vogue team as they slave over the release of the hugely-anticipated annual Fall issue of the fashion bible. To celebrate the movie's release, style icons of Hollywood and the design industry alike graced the red carpet, and although it's normally their clothing that fights for the attention of the cameras, the designers themselves embraced the limelight in person to honor the occasion. Among some of the fashion favorites in attendance were Carolina Herrera (hand-in-hand with Oscar de la Renta), the always-polished Vera Wang, and Zac Posen, who didn't hesitate to throw a few "top model" poses in the paparazzi direction. Vote below on which designer you think most stylishly held up the fort for the fashion industry! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Make A Statement With A Bib Necklace For Spring!

    image
Pauline Montupet on May 22, 2009 10:23 AM PDT
The last time bibs were this cool I was still in a high chair drinking from a sippy cup. But times have changed and this spring, the fashion world has taken on a decidedly grown-up accessory trend: the bib necklace. The statement necklace has gotten a little bit bolder and was a key piece of jewelry in this season's shows, showing up at Vera Wang, Chanel, Marni and Burberry. From itty bitty bibs to full-blown breastplates, there are tons to choose from. Pick a worldly looking beaded collar like Erickson Beamon's "Ring of Stars" choker for a well-traveled ethnic look. For vintage lovers there is the "Big Clermont" necklace by Thea Grant that resembles old jeweled broaches, and if you're on a budget try the "Spring Flora" necklace from Forever 21. Looking for something less 1901 and more like 2021? For a futuristic feel, pick large candy colored plastic beads like Malene Berger's multicolor necklace or a geometric breastplate from Missoni. Whatever you choose, just be sure to keep the neckline of your top is simple or bare...you don't want anything taking away from your signature piece for the season. Click on the slideshow to see some of my favorite picks!
