This skirt is priced to sell!
This skirt is completely covered in dense cascading, angled ruffles--the skirt is higher in the front, and cuts down lower in the back, showing off the dramatic bustle and abbreviated train of the dress. This skirt is fun just to walk around in, much less dance or act. The fabrics are light enough that they flutter and shimmy with the person wearing the skirt, and make a lovely soft rustling noise as you move. The ruffles were added onto a basic skirt shape to add reinforcement and strength to the overall design and has a side seam zipper closure.
When laid flat, the skirt's dimensions are thus:
Waist: 15.5" (the entire waist opening is 31")
Front length: 13"
Back length: 18"
As stated in the description, the skirt can easily fit a size 8-10, but can also fit a small size 12. The skirt base was made on the bias grain, giving it some built in stretch. My model in the pictures is a solid size 8 and stands at 5' 6". I myself am a size 10-12 and can wear the skirt. If you have any other questions about size or fit, please email me!
The ruffles of this skirt scream: LOOK AND TOUCH ME! All fabrics were chosen for their unique attributes, and great feel.
The purple fabric is a rich, deep tone, made in a slightly iridescent, sheer fabric. The rich chocolate brown fabric has a soft, satin-y feel to it, and if you look closely, the fabric itself has a faint (almost ghostlike) cream-colored pattern. The creamy-beige fabric is a cotton fabric, with a black pattern that looks like smoke curls and small flowers. The print on this fabric is truly unique and subtle, as its made up entirely of small dots, there are no solid lines. The design reminds me of the art nouveau era artist aubrey beardsley.
This is a one-of-a-kind skirt made from my fabric collection that I have been collecting for over a decade. For best care, I recommend dry cleaning, or hand washing and laying flat to dry. No bleach, no iron.
