From changing your light bulbs to energy saving CFLs to using public transportation or biking, it's pretty easy to do your part in protecting the environment. So it makes sense to extend that mindset when you travel too! A dream of mine is to see the Olympics at least once in my life. The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games is coming up and while I haven't booked my tickets, I can still look, right? While on the search for eco-friendly hotels in Canada, Amore by the Sea Bed & Breakfast Inn and Seaside Spa fit the bill perfectly. Only 20 minutes away from downtown Victoria and an hour and a half ferry ride away from Vancouver, Amore by the Sea is perfect as a secluded retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. There are many beaches and hiking/biking trails nearby, as well as restaurants, unique shopping and sights. On 1.5 acres of oceanfront property, every room has scenic views of the ocean and private beach. How are they green, you ask? All public and private areas have motion sensor lighting to make sure energy is efficiently used. All their new appliances are Energy Star rated and they even use solar panels to hear their relaxation pool! To conserve water, the toilets are all low water flush and they only use the dishwasher when it's full. To top it all off, every guest room has recycling bins for paper, glass, and other recyclables. To learn more about Amore by the Sea, click the slideshow and visit their Web site!

With the hot weather upon us, we started to wonder ... how short is too short? Canadian designers are saying be brave and bare it all to beat the heat! Mini dresses are a must-have for the summer of 2008. Our suggestion-- if you can wear it, bare it! Noticing trends for this summer, I'd say that a lot of us are in agreement that there really doesn't have to be a time and place to hike up the hemline. From cocktail events to summer weddings, the mini dress is here all summer long. I love the little mini styles that are hitting shops this summer. And even better is to see that Canadian designers are staying competitive with their daring designs. Out of hundreds of styles, here are our top five favorite short dresses, from casual to cocktail, by five up-and-coming Canadian designers. Enjoy!
