While I generally dislike all character toys-I'm completely impressed by the quality of this toy. It fits with all the brio wooden track as well as the inexpensive wooden track that can be purchased at most toy stores. It doesn't even need track to run- it goes fine over carpet or hard floors. This train has bathed, run off the balcony, been stepped on, grabbed by a dog, tangled in my hair and dunked in the toilet. It has merrily survived and still chugs just as well as it ever did, pulling loads of train over endless wooden track in our house. It fits perfectly in a small handbag or in someone's small hand.
