While city living is always fun and full of activities, sometimes all you want to do is get it away from it all. If only we could all own a small private island that would serve as a place to relax and unwind, or as a great location to party with your closest friends without having to mingle with crazy, drunk strangers. In our fast-paced society of instant gratification and non-stop networking (we can't even keep in touch with friends guilt-free on Facebook without calling it "networking"), it is easy to become stressed and harried. Even weekends, the lone couple of days we had to rest and recuperate, are now filled with playing catch-up for the office or partaking in fun, but taxing activities that don't let our bodies just sit back, take a deep breath, and truly relax. The next time you get a some vacation time, treat yourself to somewhere that is fun, interesting and will also give you some time to really breathe a sigh of relief. Try Berlin, Germany and stay at the beautifully streamlined Lux Eleven hotel. The rooms are amazing as well, with anything from value rooms to penthouses available, all of which come furnished with a seating area and kitchenette to make you feel even more relaxed and at home. Still a little stressed? The Lux Eleven provides a spa and healing center that uses different programs and treatments, as well as plant-derived Aveda products to put you at ease, mind, body and soul. Find yourself with a little extra time on your hand? Maybe you're between jobs and just need a break. Might I suggest a rail trip across Europe. No, seriously! It's probably less expensive than you think. A 15-day Global Pass is $449, which you can use in 21 different countries. There are something like 800 different combinations you can use for one country, a region, or up to 5 select countries. If you're 25 or under, you still qualify for this youth pricing - so take advantage! It's just so fun to invent your own trip. Why not celebrate fashion in Italy with shoes in Rome, dresses in Milan, and handbags in Florence? Or explore the pubs in Ireland or taste the schnitzel in Germany. Remember - packing is key for a trip like this. You'll have to carry everything on your person, unless you can lock up at train station while you explore. A cute day-time bag is necessary, as are comfy walking shoes and tons of wrinkle-resistant clothes. But don't bring too much - you're sure to find special pieces to add to your collection back home! Check out eurail.com for more information and GET GOING!

This recession thing can have you questioning a lot of your purchase, especially something seemingly extravagant, like a vacation. But you work hard for your money, and you deserve some time off! Get the best of both worlds by taking an Alternative Spring Break with United Planet. You'll be able to volunteer in an international community, with like-minded people from all over the world. Whether it's building a new school, cleaning up environmental waste and creating new trails, or simply communicating with others for a language immersion program, you're sure to grow in your experience - and hey, maybe still get a tan, too. You can also think of it as a positive endeavor for your body, because by avoiding the spring break party scene and keeping active, your body will definitely thank you. Can't Afford to Travel? Take a Vacation in Your Own City!

These days, people are looking to get away but may not be able to justify buying a plane ticket, a room at a pricey hotel, or even a couple of extra tanks of gas for a road trip. That being said, why not take a vacation without even leaving your city? It's easier than you might think. You often don't do the touristy things in your own town, and this is your chance! If you're an outdoorsy person, spend a day at your local indoor rock climbing gym or learn to surf. Grab a picnic basket full of goodies and head to your local park. You could even make your own home into a campsite by setting up sleeping bags in your living room and making s'mores. If you normally like to completely relax on your vacations, leave your cell phone at home and book yourself a day at the spa. Or instead of cooking dinner, go out to a great restaurant you haven't tried or browse the Lonely Planet guide for your own city and explore! The possibilities are endless. Check out the SLIDESHOW and get to it!
