As long you're not an international spy, or living under a false identity, it sure is nice to keep personal documentation of a trip. Jotting down little anecdotes of your days spent in whatever fabulous location you find yourself in - from Turkey to Timbuktu - is a wonderful way to recount later. I have one friend who is so organized that she also travels with a glue stick, and glues her ticket stubs, pieces of brochures and postcards into her journal! While I'm not suggesting you get quite so Type-A about it, I do recommend writing about your trip as you go, of course, in style. I especially love this Leather Destinations Journal, for an old Hollywood travel feel (train case and handsome, debonair suitor not included).
