Video Style Steal: Pink Goes Moto-Girlie In "Funhouse"

    image

While Pink herself is right in the middle of her worldwide tour for her fifth studio album, Funhouse, her singles and in-your-face videos haven't taken a break from their chart-topping around the rest of the globe. Her latest vid for the album's title track is characteristically "Pink" in its rebellious tomboy vibes (after all, I don't know many girlie-girls who would dare frolic through a burning junkyard, much less while dressed head-to-toe in white), yet her wardrobe is surprisingly flirty at the same time. Then again, who else would you expect to find the perfect balance between feminine lace and badass biker chick? I may never understand her love-hate relationship with husband Corey Hart, and I'll be less likely to ever have the guts to be as bold as she is, but I can at least take a page or two from her book of style! With white distressed jeans and black belted boots, you can cop her outfit pretty easily -- I just don't recommend committing arson while you're wearing it. Channel Tomboy Agyness Deyn With Menswear Gone Girlie

Ever get the urge to raid your boyfriend's closet? Well you're in good company. All around the world girls are doing what many bold women have been doing forever -- taking classic men's pieces and making them their own. Inspired by the likes of women such as Marlene Dietrich and Katherine Hepburn (who was rarely seen without her slacks), today's tomboy icons like Agyness Deyn, Samantha Ronson and model Freja Beha Erichsen are keeping the menswear trend alive among the traditionally "fairer" sex. Even Coco Chanel was a rule-breaking tomboy! What do you need to get the tomboy look? A great pair of black trousers a good way to start -- look for some that have pleats or for ones that are a little roomy but still narrow in the leg like the "Burnisi" Pant by Theory. Top off those pants with a great plain white T-shirt or an updated button-down like ones from Alexander Wang. If you get a little chilly, add an oversized boyfriend blazer that is everywhere this season. Take cue from tomboy Agyness Deyn, who is often spotted wearing a fedora or a bowler hat and suspenders to add some whimsy to your look. Add some quirky accessories like argyle socks or a bowtie and a cummerbund (it's a super versatile belt!) and you're good to go. Check out the slideshow for how to get the look!

Stylediarist Akinam Has Tomboy Chic Down To A Tee (And Jeans)

Once again I found myself scrolling through StyleDiary for fashion firsts and wardrobe wants, only to find another favorite StyleDiarist Akinam! She's hip and blond, so of course she's from Germany! What I love (read, envy) about Akinam's style is how she can transform from chic tomboy to floral femme without missing a step! Although her favorite colors are white, grey, and black, Akinam's looks span a wide spectrum, jeans and a soft T-shirt to a rather girlish frilly dress. I'm in awe over this leather jacket that Akinam pulls off so effortlessly. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I could squeeze this simple off-the-shoulder cotton top into my wardrobe closet--just a thought! Get ideas and inspiration for your closet in my SLIDESHOW of my favorite looks from Akinam's StyleDiary!
