Video Style Steal: Pink Goes Moto-Girlie In "Funhouse"

    image
Alex Gambardella on Aug 13, 2009 8:21 AM PDT
While Pink herself is right in the middle of her worldwide tour for her fifth studio album, Funhouse, her singles and in-your-face videos haven't taken a break from their chart-topping around the rest of the globe. Her latest vid for the album's title track is characteristically "Pink" in its rebellious tomboy vibes (after all, I don't know many girlie-girls who would dare frolic through a burning junkyard, much less while dressed head-to-toe in white), yet her wardrobe is surprisingly flirty at the same time. Then again, who else would you expect to find the perfect balance between feminine lace and badass biker chick? I may never understand her love-hate relationship with husband Corey Hart, and I'll be less likely to ever have the guts to be as bold as she is, but I can at least take a page or two from her book of style! With white distressed jeans and black belted boots, you can cop her outfit pretty easily -- I just don't recommend committing arson while you're wearing it. Tom Ford Adds Italian Cypress To The Private Blend Collection

For the first time since the Private Blend Collection was launched in the spring of 2007, Tom Ford Beauty is adding another revolutionary fragrance to the line. Italian Cypress, the new sartorially inspired scent is being launched this summer in honor of the new Tom Ford store in Milan, Italy. Created for true connoisseurs of fragrance, all of the scents in the Private Blend Collection deliver original blends of the most fascinating notes in the perfumer's lexicon. In the world of fragrance, Tom Ford scents are as distinct and instantly recognizable to the well-trained nose as a Gucci purse is to even the most untrained eye. Italian Cypress blends woods and resins, delivering the robust essence of Italian quality and sophistication. This truly complex blends lingers with final notes of labdanum, Icelandic moss, ciste absolute, and Indonesian patchouli. Retro Sunnies With Throwback Appeal

    image
    Dino-Ray Ramos on Apr 9, 2009 4:14 PM PDT
It seems as though the deeper we get into the 21st century, the more we sample trends from past decades-- and it is ever apparent with sunglasses (or as our Aussie folks say, "sunnies"). These days, people look like they are extras in a John Hughes films with their wayfarers or paying homage to Maverick and Goose in "Top Gun" with their aviators. There is nothing wrong with wearing retro specs-- especially when today's top designers are modernizing them to make them look chic and sleek. Tom Ford's collection of wayfarers leans towards the modern side of cool while French Connection replicates the style with blatant throwback appeal. And although aviators are considered retro, a nice pair can go a long way in a man's wardrobe (the Dior aviators are a quite snazzy). If you have problems choosing what color frames to choose, the tortoise hue is the way to go. The black and brown goes with practically any outfit. That said, wrap some of these retro shades around your head.

Oscar Red Carpet Afterthoughts – For The Men

    image
    Dino-Ray Ramos on Mar 2, 2009 5:15 AM PST
The battleground for the Oscars red carpet is empty and fashion bloggers (including myself) have burnt out on writing about Kate Winslet€™s YSL gown, Penelope Cruz€™s vintage Balmain dress (I am still getting over the fact that it is 60 years old), all the one-shouldered wonders (please reference Marisa Tomei€™s pleated Versace wonder) and the unfortunate incident with Jessica Biel€™s Prada dress. Even though we did enjoy these gowns as well as Sarah Jessica Parker€™s Wonder Woman-meets-fairy princess Dior Haute Couture gown, I still can€™t help but give props to the men. Any guy looks good in a tux €“ but when it€™s a leading man of Hollywood, we have to make a big deal about it. Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig donned Tom Ford while the evening€™s host Hugh Jackman (who made the Oscars worth watching again) wore Burberry. But it was Mickey Rourke who sartorially stood out from his peers. Dressed in a white Jean Paul Gaultier suit that matched his edgy personality (with no tie, mind you) and accessorized with a necklace of his late chihuahua, Loki, he made the red carpet fashion interesting for all the guys out there.

Celeb Style Steal: How to Rock Your Accessories Like Nicky Hilton

    image
Sabrina Newman on Sep 4, 2008 1:14 PM PDT
From subdued and quietly chic to bold and flashy, Nicky Hilton has the magic touch and can pull just about anything off. At the Sally Beauty Supply Launch, the designing heiress demonstrated how instrumental accessories can truly be to an ensemble. With a printed Haven dress as a canvas, the self-confessed accessory-addict piled them on with a black studded Valentino bag, Tom Ford sunglasses, studded Matt Bernson sandals, and lots of fabulous jewelry pieces including a black bangle, several beaded bracelets in different colors, a cocktail ring, oversized earrings, and a necklace- whew, that's a lot of stuff jammed into one ensemble! The most astounding part about this outfit is that despite the many, many elements, it still looks uncluttered and pulled together without looking over thought! Man, she's good! Check out my mega SLIDESHOW to get all the elements making up this extensive look!

10 Hot Shades for Hot Summer Days

I just bought some awesome sunglasses that I did not include in this slideshow. I didn€™t want the entire universe running out and buying them. Forgive me. But I did include 10 other favorites! I'm especially partial to big shades that make you look like an alien and edgy shades that set you apart from the crowd. And it should go without saying that aqua Ray-Ban Wayfarers are friggin€™ hot sauce. And because so many of us have the ability to lose our shades the minute a summer margarita hits our lips, there€™s some affordable options in here as well. So get to clicking people!
