Every once in a while, there is a shirt that can be considered the perfect shirt-- especially for the jet-setting gentleman. The Traveller from Thomas Pink is that shirt. The button down combines technology with dapper style to create a no-fuss miracle that is easy to handle. "Our customers are traveling more for business than ever before and yet demand that their business attire is not compromised as a result," said Jonathan Heilbron, the CEO of Thomas Pink in a statement. "The wardrobe equivalent of an iPhone, the Traveller is our new interpretation of 'smart work wear.'" Stamped with the signature Thomas Pink style, the shirt is constructed out of two-fold cotton with a single button cuff and is available in patterns, checks and solid colors. The shirt is also available in classic and slim-fit styles. And at $99, it is indeed, the perfect travelbuddy.

Head For Neutral Territory: Earthy Looks For Men

    image

I have a philosophy that men should have a solid assortment of neutral-colored pieces in their wardrobe-- and when I say neutral, I am not just referring to black. I am referring to the earthy prismatic rainbow that includes gray, khaki, brown, navy and, of course, the good ol' standby, black. Choosing neutral pieces is like picking a canvas for you to paint on. When choosing something like a Ralph Lauren poplin barrel shirt, think of a pop of color that would compliment it (I'll go over choosing fun colors later). The best thing about neutral colored clothing is that it goes with just about everything, which makes it anything but boring. You can even go with neutral accessories that stand in the background of your colorful garb. A khaki Kenneth Cole messenger bag is a universal accessory as is the neutral colorblock tie by Thomas Pink. The trick about neutrals is to have a balance, because if you wear too much black, you run the risk of looking like an undertaker-- and no one wants that. Take a look at my slideshow for more neutrals to choose from.

    It's Hip to be "Square!"

A pocket square can work in two ways: it can be a flourish of color erupting out of your breast pocket or it can be a crisp, structured piece of fabric showing power a la Don Draper from "Mad Men." I myself have a big arsenal of pocket squares €“ maybe a little too big. There was one point in my sartorial life when I kept on buying pocket squares without thinking. I was obsessed. Now that I look in the drawer that is specifically designated for my squares, I look at some of them and say, "What in the hell was I thinking?" That said, don't make the same mistake I did. Keep it simple and/or bold. When choosing patterned squares, pick one that will be suitably showcased in your pocket. Remember- for the most part, the pocket square won't be seen in its entirety. Whether you choose the classic J. Crew white linen pocket square or something from the dapper man's Mecca, FineAndDandyShop.com , a gentleman should have at least one in his wardrobe. Choose from my picks in the SLIDESHOW and you'll be the ultimate purveyor of dandyism.
