A few months ago both Chanel Iman and Sessilee Lopez tweeted about a "major" moment in fashion and a surprise cover. That should have been clue enough for some folks to guess. Now the secret is out: the two young models, along with Jourdan Dunn and Arlenis Sosa, grace the cover of i.D magazine's September issue. The iconic photo features all four girls with corset-inspired tops, figure-hugging skirts, matching black gloves and shimmery makeup. It was shot in London by Emma Summerton and styled by i-D fashion director Edward Enninful. Besides featuring four of the hottest models of the moment in one sitting, this issue is distinctive for yet another reason: It is the only non-urban magazine to opt for women of color on its September cover. Tried & Tested: The Best Cotton Tee On The Market

Jeans always get front and center when it comes to icons of American style. But everyone knows the silent star is really the T-shirt. Where would James Dean, Marlon Brando, or Michael Jackson have been without the super simple, super sexy white t-shirt? Are Baggy, Footless Tights In Your Fashion Future?

I'm all for most hosiery trends, whether it be two-toned, crazy-patterned, or studded leg wear. And I've never been an opponent of "tights as pants," as long as it's done tastefully. But I have to admit that I don't know what to make of Wolford's Voile leggings/footless tights. Isn't hosiery supposed to be fitted, not baggy? I have to say that these look like the cheap stockings sold at drugstores and bodegas, which are barely adequate when you're in a bind and create a very unsexy-looking leg. These leggings, however, aren't inexpensive, and retail for about $62. They not only look weird (and not in a good eccentric way) and cost too much, but are also impractical. I can't think of any way to rock these that wouldn't make the wearer look short and malnourished. Well, I guess if you're trying to look thinner, these might do the trick, but would you really want to risk having your style license revoked? I didn't think so. Head over to TheFrisky for more!

Seventeen Mag Goes Retro For September Issue

Of all the high-fashion, high-concept, high-flying September magazine covers out there, this is our fave. Behold the first-ever cover of Seventeen magazine, from September 1944, which will also be the subscription cover of their upcoming September 2009 issue in honor of their 65th anniversary. We love that the cover model hasn't changed: a young, pretty, all-American girl. But everything else has! Notice the single cover line? The first edition keeps it simple with "Young fashions & beauty, movies & music, ideas & people," instead of the standard shtick you see on teen fashion magazines today ("284 ways to change your look" anyone?). OMFG: Rodarte To Design For Target!

Rodarte is designing a line for Target's Go International project, allowing us to die happy after purchasing, well, everything the day it's available on December 20. Because, really, what else is there to live for once you've filled your closet with Rodarte for $60 instead of $4,000? We'd sort of resigned ourselves to the idea that Rodarte would always just be a little too cool to be at all accessible, but the 55 piece Target collection plans have proven us wrong and caused us to hold our collective breathe in anticipation. Rather focusing on any one specific type of the clothing, the line is said to range from knee highs to party dresses and jackets, meaning we could potentially make endless combinations in our online shopping carts as a means of entertaining ourselves. And because Rodarte is Rodarte and, thus, known for their over-the-top-awesome details, you can count on a semi-scaled back interpretation of the same sort of intensity you see in their regular runway shows.
