    It's a Mad Men World!

Does Joan Holloway make you covet a time machine to retrieve her body-hugging style? Never fear, for this season's designers have embraced the curve-loving silhouettes of the 60s. AMC got it right in the costume department - Mad Men's ladies have the look down cold. Channel your inner Jackie O by pairing a gorgeous strand of pearls with a belted dress, like this gorgeous green Escada. For a more casual look, make like the equestrian Betty Draper and try a swing riding jacket with skinny jeans and boots. Work week chic? No problem -- try a wool cap sleeve dress like this Bottega Veneta and you're sure to turn heads! Check out the slideshow to start your journey to the fabulous silhouettes of the past! And if you still can't get enough, add some Mad Men style to your apartment too!

Hive 5: Our Favorite Staycation Essentials

    image
Greta on Aug 25, 2008 6:25 AM PDT
Staycation. It's a trendy term I've been hearing thrown around quite a bit this summer. And while I applaud the news programs that turned this eco-friendly idea of staying close to home into a chic way to spend this summer's vacation, most peoples' backyards are anything but an oasis. So how do you turn that crumbling patio or yellowing lawn into something that resembles a desirable outdoor living space? Well, it's really quite simple - accessorize! By adding interesting features to you your backyard, you can turn an ordinary outdoor space into something truly exceptional. Be drawn outside for a playful game of croquet, or escape the sunlight under a jewel-toned cabana. At night, illuminate your yard with an exquisitely designed fire pit, or watch your favorite flicks on an outdoor theater entertainment system. What's best of all is that these items are meant to be shared in the company of family and friends. So this summer, invite over some friends, cook up your favorite summertime foods, and indulge in a staycation. Be sure to check out my SLIDESHOW for five items that would definitely turn your vacation at home into something extraordinary!

Fashion Hots and Nots at the 14th Annual SAG Awards

    image

It was all about understated glamour on the red carpet (oh how we've missed thee!) as the ladies came out to play in a mix of neutrals and bright pops of color at last night's SAG Awards. Ellen Pompeo and Christina Applegate glittered in muted shades of grey, while Kate Beckinsale and Vanessa Williams glowed in sunny yellow. Strapless also proved to be the style of choice - as rocked by Teri Hatcher and Michelle Pfieffer.

With a carpet full of hits, Sandra Oh, arrived in a very questionable choice. The giant pink bow (kinda reminded us of a present) wasn't quite working for us, but we'll let you decide for yourselves.

Of course, the talk of the night was Angelina Jolie's vintage Hermes couture gown, which fueled even more rumors of a preggo Angie. We're used to seeing the girl in waist cinching, form fitting dresses, so last night's loose, tent like ensemble caught us just a teensy bit off guard. Is Angie hiding something behind all that fabric? We're thinking yes!

To see some of the most memorable dresses (and Sandra Oh's monstrosity) from last night's SAG awards just click on the slideshow, and while you're at it, tell us your picks for best (or worst) dressed!

So you say you love television. We get that. Your best friend is TiVo and your social calendar is basically TV Guide, so it's pretty clear. But we won't be convinced that you really, really LOVE television until you bid on exclusive memorabilia from top NBC shows during the second NBC Universal live auction, set to begin on January 21st! They've got one-of-a-kind items from your favorite shows, so be sure to visit NBC.com on Monday and put down your best offer! It's your only chance to own the Burnt Toast Diner waitress outfit that Charlie wore on season 1 of Heroes, the Dwight Schrute bobblehead (signed!) from The Office, and Montecito playing cards and chips from - you guessed it - Las Vegas.
