Let me guess- you just splurged on a bikini and now you can't afford to buy anything to wear with it. And since reality is not a Vogue editorial, you actually can't board your flight in a square foot of strategically placed Missoni fabric. Enter Tracy Feith for Target. The designer known for fun sun and surfwear has put together an impressive collection for the retailer, mixing surf staples like short shorts and floral prints with edgy jackets and mod zipper dresses, and it will be available in select Target stores and online on May 17th! Our must-haves include a colorful striped cardigan, a sixties-inspired floral minidress, and those oh-so-cute bloomers. Click the slideshow to see a sampling of the collection, modeled by none other than The City's Allie Crandell. Feel free to comment with your thoughts on the collection! Will you be swinging by Target this weekend?

Surf Into Target For Some Tracy Feith!

    image
Lesley Scott on Apr 28, 2009 5:23 AM PDT
As a skateboarder in the early 80s, Texas-born Tracy Feith started customizing his skate threads to match his free-spirited, punk personality. He later refined his skills at art school, and ended up working in the fashion industry creating the colorful, boho-luxe vibe -- which looks as good on the beach as the red carpet -- that has since become his signature. His new limited-edition line for Target is reminiscent of 70s surf life (especially with retro-ready prices ranging from $15-$140), featuring tees, swimwear, summery separates, flowy frocks and girlie skirts in bold hues, tiered ruffles, and prints both trippy and tropical on washed-down fabrics. A black leather biker jacket tossed over a daisy-print pinafore oozes carefree style, while a number 8 muscle tee with a print skater skirt is beach party-ready. "Tracy Feith designs for women who are sophisticated and chic [like fans Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, and Michelle Obama], but also know how to express their individuality," says Trish Adams, senior VP at Target. "His Bohemian-inspired, spirited aesthetic is a fresh take for the GO International program, providing designer fashion at guilt-free prices." Tracy Feith for Target is available starting May 17, 2009 at Target.com. Until then, make sure to check out Fashiontribes for more Spring and Summer fashion news and trends!

Can't Afford to Travel? Take a Vacation in Your Own City!

    image

These days, people are looking to get away but may not be able to justify buying a plane ticket, a room at a pricey hotel, or even a couple of extra tanks of gas for a road trip. That being said, why not take a vacation without even leaving your city? It's easier than you might think. You often don't do the touristy things in your own town, and this is your chance! If you're an outdoorsy person, spend a day at your local indoor rock climbing gym or learn to surf. Grab a picnic basket full of goodies and head to your local park. You could even make your own home into a campsite by setting up sleeping bags in your living room and making s'mores. If you normally like to completely relax on your vacations, leave your cell phone at home and book yourself a day at the spa. Or instead of cooking dinner, go out to a great restaurant you haven't tried or browse the Lonely Planet guide for your own city and explore! The possibilities are endless. Check out the SLIDESHOW and get to it!

Editor's Pick: Insight Has Your Beach Bum Covered!

So you spend a good few months working on that beach bod, finally find an awesome swimsuit to show off all of that hard work, and then what... throw on that ratty old cover-up that's been sitting in your closet for so many years that you can trace its beginnings to a time when Roxy made boardshorts and nothing else? Not if the designers over at Insight have anything to say about it! We first caught sight of the 80's-inspired Australian label when select pieces (most notably the panda bum bikini and shorts) popped up at Urban Outfitters and promptly sold out. The super affordable tops, dresses, and shorts all have that "Where did you find that?!" quality that we secretly aim for every time we get dressed. Click SEE THE SLIDESHOW for lots of beach and boardwalk-ready looks from Insight!

Surfing and yoga. Yoga and surfing. Like all great pairings - peanut butter and jelly, espresso and skim milk, and TomKat come to mind - yoga and surfing make for one bizarrely perfect match. If the idea of a vacation spent learning how to ride the waves and tone up your wannabe-yogi bod sounds as heavenly to you as it does to me, you're in luck. I've om'd my way through a virtual world tour of surf and yoga retreats; without further ado, the top four finds€¦
