  The Met Costume Institute Gala Is Tonight!

  The Met Ball is tonight, and in addition to the excitement of who's wearing (and bringing) who there's the event's theme, "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," which explores the industry's perception of beauty and the power that models have in influencing the fashion of their generation. This year's event is chaired by Marc Jacobs, and co-chaired by Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake, and Anna Wintour, and the models and icons featured in the exhibit include Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Shalom Harlow, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, and Iman, among others. You can see the exhibit for yourself at the Met's Tisch Galleries between May 6th and May 9th. And now for the gossip-- Karl Lagerfeld: not attending! Kate will wear Marc! Coco is *gasp* not going with Zac Posen! It's going to rain! Naomi Campbell might not show! Oh my... I must stop reading Page 6. For updates go to Modelinia!

  Influential International Style: Kate Moss

  It's no coincidence that Kate Moss is always 2-3 months ahead of the curve. She sets the curve, and designers scramble to put clothes on the market that mimic her eclectic, always surprising style. Moss seems to live by only one key rule of fashion, which is to wear beautiful clothes authentically. She seems to effortlessly throw together outfits that you never think would work. Whether it's layering neutrals over grey skinny jeans and red booties (months before anyone is even wearing black ones!), sporting heavily layered jewelry, or throwing a blazer over anything, Moss keeps visual interest without seeming over-dressed. She always seems comfortable, her clothes look tailored to fit her body, and you most often see her wearing flats. Her lesson to be learned is wear what makes you feel comfortable. Fun fact: Moss is only 5'7", and though very slight, her style can be mixed and matched to flatter many body types! Check out my slideshow for ways to adopt Kate Moss's eclectic style!   Tune In Tonight To Watch Aspiring Models Battle It Out On ...

  Tyra Banks and "America's Next Top Model," watch out! Bravo's modeling competition show, "Make Me a Supermodel," is back for a second season premiering tonight! The show will be hosted by the dashing model Tyson Beckford and feature judges such as French fashion designer Catherine Malandrino and one of my favorite models from the '90s, Jenny Shimizu. Sixteen aspiring supermodels will be competing to win the title, $100,000 and a contract with New York Model Management. Will you be cheering for tall, lanky and geeky med school bound Colin? Or are you placing your bets on Amanda, a single mom who lost all her baby weight gain in only a month? Watch the video and see these budding models already half naked and preparing to be measured. I certainly don't envy them for that nerve-wracking experience! Be sure to watch the rest of the show every Wednesday at 10/9c on Bravo!

  At the launch of the Russell James portrait collection in New York, Alessandra Ambrosia showed how chic is done, supermodel style. Alessandra looked effortlessly fabulous wearing a strapless draped white dress paired with metallic Christian Louboutin pumps. She kept the look subtle and fun with minimal accessories including a gold pendant necklace and single ring. This look is completely versatile and can be dressed up or down to fit any occasion. You can pair a similar draped dress with black tights, a cropped leather jacket and some booties for a fashion-forward, edgy flair, wear it with gladiators when spring time hits, pile on the accessories for a boho feel, or keep it minimal like Alessandra.

  Get 'It Girl' Status With Agyness' Glam-Grunge Look

  I hate using the term "It Girl". It just seems to be so overused nowadays, yet it really hits the nail on the head when describing Agyness Deyn. She's always doing her own thing - which, in my eyes may, be the very essence of an "it" girl--that and having kick-butt trend-setting style. It also helps that's she an international supermodel, muse, on the top of countless best-dressed lists as well as the ambassador of youth culture. Love it or hate it--this girl has a definitive style. Steal the glam-grunge look she was sporting around the tents at New York Fashion Week- an off-the-shoulder top paired with an oversize Chanel bag is given a grunge 80's look when paired with cut offs and bike shorts. This look isn't for the faint of heart, or the fashion-shy- so proceed with caution and check out my slideshow!
