Vintage Fashionistas Love the Prince of Prints

    image
Mary Kincaid on ноя 27, 2009 10:23 AM PST
When Emilio Pucci scribbled his signature across his designs, it marked the debut of a designer's name as an external logo. But Pucci wasn't content to just make dresses. His designs included the now famous Braniff International Airlines uniforms, the logo for the Apollo 15 space mission, tableware for Rosenthal, and even the interior of a Ford Lincoln Continental! Now vintage designs by this "Prince of Prints" are legendary and forever popular because they make any girl feel like a "Princess of Prints." Whether its for day or evening, no one rocks bold, brightly colored graphics better than this CFDA award winner and this fabulous little collection of vintage Pucci frocks shows off his genius. They're all perfect finds for vintage fashionistas! Just click the slide show to see the selection.

"Juliette Has A Gun" Helps You Find Your Unique Frangrance!

    image

The perfect perfume really helps craft your identity -- a scent that evokes everything about you, and when someone smells it they think of you. So why would you want to wear something that everyone else has? Turn to some smaller artisanal fragrances for something personal that not everyone is getting at the local department store. Juliette Has A Gun is a new line of fragrances that is there to do just that. Started by perfumer Romano Ricci (who has a pedigree is all things luxe -- his grandfather was a perfumer and his great-grandmother was haute couturiere Nina Ricci), the line of fragrances is rock and roll but elegant, taking inspiration from our favorite Shakespearean heroine, Juliet, just in modern terms. The line plans on unveiling 5 different scents, but only 3 are available now. Each perfume is based on roses, but each takes on a distinct personality. The romantic goth "Lady Vengeance" is classy and sophisticated with Bulgarian rose, patchouli and vanilla. A more naive and fragile "Miss Charming" has Moroccan rose and notes of wild fruits. The newest Juliette on the scene, "Citizen Queen," is edgy, glamorous and intimidating. Check them out and see which fits your personality at Henri Bendel in NY and on Henribendel.com

Tribal accents have always been equal parts intriguing and cozy. Whether they're in the form of art or knick-knacks, it's hard not to enjoy the look of artisan craftsmanship mixed with a sense of wilderness wonder. So why not wear it? Spruce up your vintage wear and add a little bit of old New World style. This fall, the Native American look is an irresistible trend that's hitting mainstream design in forms of bold, bright colors, arrow-like patterns, tiny embroidered beads, and fringe. The trend is a refined niche of boho style that's even a bit reminiscent of the late '60s Woodstock era. Embrace the spirit of the Native American-inspired styles in my slideshow!

From LimeLife: Ashley Greene's Stunning Last-Minute "New ...

    image

We think it's pretty easy to agree that Ashley Greene looked absolutely stunning at the premiere of "New Moon" the other night. But did you realize how last minute Ashley's dress was? This has us truly believing that Ashley Greene is a really incredible fashionista. Ashley's beautiful red dress is a Prabal Gurung and we're so glad she chose it because it suits her absolutely perfectly. But Ashley hasn't been planning this look for months and months. In fact, she chose it right before the big "New Moon" premiere. She says she had another dress all ready to go, but then she says that at the last minute, "I decided I didn't like it and we had to start from scratch." We can imagine that must have been pretty stressful! But it was such a big event for Ashley, we're sure she wanted to look as perfect as can be. She continues, "I stopped by the tailors right before I got here to pick up the dress." You definitely wouldn't have known it from looking at her; it seems that everything worked out just perfectly. Click over to LimeLife to read more about Ashley's red carpet style.
