Video Style Steal: We're Nostalgic ...
Ever since we caught a glimpse of the Grammy get-up that Britney Spears unwisely chose to wear this year (if you haven't seen it, you've officially been warned), we at the Hive have been really missing Brit's good ol' days. We're talkin' Britney circa 2001 -- you know, "I'm A Slave 4 U," her movie debut in Crossroads, and the wise-beyond-her-years "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman." In fact, speaking of that particular video, while watching it we can't help but think that she had way more fashion sense ten years ago than she did now, even by today's standards. I mean, swap those 70's-style flares for a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and trade her crop top for one that's... well, not cropped, and she's practically wearing an outfit straight out of the latest Free People catalogue. And wait -- are those desert boots she's wearing under those humongous bell bottoms?! Dear far-more-stylish-Britney-of-the-past: if you're still in there somewhere, come back and save yourself before you do something else drastic like wear another see-through lace dress in public. If you don't know Camilla Belle yet, you will soon. The stunning Brazilian-American actress is just 22, but making a splash on the fashion circuit. Although she did star opposite the Jonas Brothers in their "LoveBug" video, Belle has since stepped it up, starring in sci-fi thriller "Push" with Dakota Fanning. As the face of Vera Wang's Princess fragrance, it's no wonder Belle is quite the fashion forward young lady. Her youth and skin tone allow her to experiment with bright colors, fun prints, and tons of sparkles. Never looking too old or too young on a red carpet has proved difficult for some of her peers, but Belle manages to show them up consistently. To channel her fab style, make sure you choose brights that work with your skin tone, and prints that are not too young for you. -
