Anyone up for a game of truth or dare? marlies|dekkers lingerie knows how to play, and blurs the line between the options with seductively sophisticated underpinnings that exist somewhere within that nebulous space between fantasy and reality. The Dutch Dekkers, who graduated cum laude from the Sint-Joost Academy of Art and Design in 1991, bases her design philosophy on making women feel radiant and confident. Her work embodies not only her flair for innovative design, but also her entrepreneurial outlook, which undoubtedly adds to the powerful philosophy she puts forth.

Girl next door? Try girl on the street. That's the idea behind E.Y. Wada, the label that got its start when girl (Eunyoung Song) met boy (Shuji Wada) seven years ago and began designing collections together five years later. Building upon inspiration from NYC street style, the Astoria-based duo sought to achieve an edgy, yet accessible image, combining casual basics with elegant details and reinventing standard pieces with luxury materials. And they did, winning them the 2007 Gen Art Style award for best women's ready to wear. The credentials behind their creativity: Wada's worked for Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen, while Song honed her skills at DKNY. Their experience is especially evident in the expert tailoring that takes the figure-skimming designs in their collections up a notch, and a noticeable one at that.

Give me deconstructed layers with feminine tailoring, in colors reminiscent of a coming-of-age Sofia Coppola film, and I am in heaven! You'll be sitting - or standing, or reclining - pretty in just about anything from Dorothy Lee. I would expect nothing less than greatness from her after studying at Parsons and Central St. Martins and interning for Chanel and Peter Som. Dorothy Lee presents a line of contradictions, with their girly yet ladylike silhouettes, where clean lines and simple shapes meet intricate detailing. Her relaxed, whimsical creations are the epitome of effortless chic, they have a throw-it-on-and-go quality that makes them this seasons wardrobe staple. Check out my slideshow for 10 of her prettiest looks.
