Ah, Keds. They bring me back to the carefree days of morning recess and monkey bars... and now exude simple low-maintenance sportiness. These Keds, however, spotted by Couture in the City, give back a little more than grade school nostalgia. Keds Champion Pink Ribbon canvas sneaker features the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon on the side and tongue of the shoe and comes with white and pink laces. 100% of the sales of the Champion Pink Ribbon Sneaker will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.

    CollegeCandy Wishlist: Adidas Ballerina Sneaker-Flats

    image

I love flats. I practically wear them every day and to all occasions. I can't even remember what I used to wear before I started slipping on those cute and comfy babies. Wait, yes I do. It was sneakers (love my Chucks), but I had to find something else after I realized that old school Nikes are not acceptable for all occasions. Like job interviews. And now Adidas has taken my two favorite forms of footwear and morphed them into one mega shoe: the Gazelle Ballerina. Not to quote Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana or whoever she chooses to be today, but you do get the best of both worlds with these shoes. Revel in the cuteness and convenience of a flat and the stylishness and comfort of a sneaker with its rubber outsole for added support. So if, like the Spice Girls, you've got a little Posh and a little Sporty to ya, these shoes are your perfect match. And if you find yourself running from parties when campus security shows up, these are probably right for you too. It's the girls in stilettos who always get caught. Hit up CollegeCandy for more cute footwear finds!

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010: Lacoste

    image

While Fashion Week's weather has been becoming increasingly blustery, Lacoste's Spring/Summer 2010 show provided a much-needed vacay for its audience, channeling the carefree, sunshine-y vibe of a summer beach day with its boardwalk-inspired runway. With one main focus in mind- simple, sporty chic- the collection managed to be straightforward and effortless while still maintaining the bright and playful energy we've grown to expect from the brand. The models donned updated versions of classic tennis-inspired pieces like mesh sneakers, polo dresses, and cuffed shorts, but also threw in some unexpected twists, like hooded rompers, tailored blazers, and chic summery dresses that added a resort-like relaxed style to the brand's usual polished, prep school flavor. Take a look at the slideshow for a glimpse at some of the looks to come this spring!
