Sylvia and Lester Skegby-Hodsocks have been through a lot together!(Most of it was Lester's fault, just ask Sylvia...) This Art Doll is hand made from recycled materials. It is hand painted, embroidered, and beaded. This one, has been printed with leaf prints,and has embroidered stars on her breasts. French knots and beads meander along her body, she speaks of moonlit gardens with roaming peacocks, calling their songs to the night. She is approximately 12" high, with an arm span of 8"

The snail shell is made from revisioned suiting wool and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. It measures 3 1/2 inches at it's widest and 6 inches long. The shell itself has several rows of stitches to form the stripes that compliment the body color. The shell is sewn onto the body, which is made from wool felt, and stuffed with polyester fiberfill and plastic pellets (which allows the snail to sit as pictured without additional support). There is a stainless steel armature within the eyes that is sewn to the main body for extra support; the eyes are poseable, within reason. The buttons used for the eyes are antique shoe buttons. The body, including the shell is just under 9 inches long and 5 inches wide at it's widest undulation. The eyes, completely extended from one eye to the next, measure 8 inches. The height is 5 1/4 inches at the top of the shell and 4 1/2 inches at the top of the head (eyes not included). The bottom seam of the body is sewn so that the raw edges are exposed.
