Skin is In! Charming Snakeskin Accessories To Slither Into ...

    image

Snakeskin prints have slithered their way into stores! At the spring runway shows, they were on everything-- dresses, skirts, hats, bags, shoes, belts... and dyed in every color! It's all about adding texture to your look with skins. Look for color-rich reptile accessories; they're a great way to dabble in the trend without looking like a walking (well, slithering) reptile. Real snakeskin and python can be quite expensive, but there are plenty of faux embossed options that will keep you from having buyer's remorse when this trend slithers away. Try a sexy snakeskin sandal with a basic ensemble to pump up a look. A bright colored python belt works perfectly to cinch this season's slouchy boyfriend jeans and khakis. Don't be afraid to mix and match your snakeskin- just keep one neutral and the other colorful for a coordinating but not overly calculated look. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM Runway: Cia Maritima

Well, if someone's gotta bring the Latin flavor to the Mercedes Benz SWIM runway, it might as well be Brazilian beachwear designer Cia.Maritima! The show started off relatively slow, giving us a glimpse of some undoubtedly unique watercolor animal prints that put a soft spin on a traditionally wild design. Things slowly began to simmer with the introduction of boldly printed string bikinis and then reached an eventual boiling point with the parade of dare-to-bare cutout bikinis and structured monokinis that left everyone feeling hot, hot, hot! It wasn't all about the skin-baring ensembles though- the designer wowed with an impressive array of sheer and Grecian-inspired caftans and cover ups, and the details weren't to be missed either- the bold cuffs and strappy arm embellishments were just as alluring. In preparation for spring, we were all about the festive egg-dye pastels and quintessential floral prints, but now that the Easter bunny has come and gone, we at Stylehive are looking for fashion inspiration from some much more stylish critters. Animal print may scare off some traditionally demure girls who have always written off zebra, leopard, giraffe, and boa as patterns suited only for the tacky and fashionably loud and best left on the African Savannah, but the celestial spirits are here to prove that wild prints can be both sophisticated and sexy! For example, Virgos can look forward to brightening things up in an eye-popping orange leopard tank, while Aries girls will keep it subtle and classy in a printed party dress! Whether you're destined to sport stripes, spots, or scales, you're bound to look hot while walking on the wild side this week! Check out the slideshow to see what kind of animal print best suits your sign!

Python. Anaconda. Cobra. While many fashionistas wouldn't get within a few feet of a live snake, they're perfectly happy to carry a snakeskin handbag. In fact, exotic snakeskin accessories have seen a recent surge in popularity, particularly in Europe. But few consumers seem to be aware of the environmental toll of this fashion fix. There are growing concerns, for instance, that this fashion obsession is wreaking havoc on the populations of the most popular species of snakes as well as affecting the ecosystems of their natural habitats. So consider carrying a vintage bag instead. Just click SEE SLIDESHOW for some beautiful choices.
