Bring Back The Swingin' 60's Into Your Home!

Here in San Francisco, which was one of the most relevant places for the 1960's radical movement, there is still strong evidence of this mod-style, crazy colorful, "flower power" time. Style from the 60's is most easily recognized with strange, fluid shapes, or angular, geometric ones and whirls of bright colors. Things were proudly done in man-made materials like plastics and rubber, and aimed to look "futuristic" (which, for some reason, meant no arm rests and other convenient comforts). While the Swingin' 60's is an era that's long gone, it's easy to hark back to a few decades ago and bring the color and style back into your living space. A few simple home accents and accessories, like brightly colored, slick-surfaced furnishings, interestingly shaped lamps and lighting, and other brightly hued, 60's-inspired items, is all it takes to give your home a radical vibe with a modern twist. WhatsWear Shows You How To Dress the Part: Sexy Sixties Secretary

Old School is back as we see designers drawing more and more influence from the styles of the yesteryear. Shabby Apple's Manhattan line exudes flirtatious appeal with '60s-esque dresses synonymous with the sexy secretary and demure housewife looks we see on retro shows like Mad Men. The dresses are all about form-fitting bodices paired with fuller skirts, allowing them to be worn around the office and on social occasions. A personal recommendation goes to the Madison Avenue dress, which is made up with a black and white houndstooth material and trench coat detailing. Another particularly notable piece is the Fifth Avenue dress. This piece consists of a pencil skirt dress decorated with a high-waisted giraffe print "skirt" and a pleated neck line. In addition to these impressive looks, the prices reflect a company that desires quality craftsmanship without outstanding costs. The dresses start at $72 and always fall under $100. Times are tough and while saving is important, it does not mean that style has to be sacrificed! Wear these styles to the fullest and pair them with bright red lips and pearls exemplifying the retro look!
