Fall Accessories Bring Silver And Gold Together At Last!

    image

Whoever told you that silver and gold were clashing colors and therefore should never mingle within the same ensemble was seriously ill-advised! Though slightly unexpected, pairing silver and gold -- especially in the same piece -- is a bold and stunning combo, and it's popping up all over jewelry and accessories trends for the upcoming fall season! Mix things up with a chunky braided chain necklace, or tie your outfit together with a multicolored stud belt, among a variety of other chic options. While I certainly don't encourage you to simply pile on all the jewelry you own or accessorize without a second thought at color-coordination, just be aware that the two metals don't repel each other like opposite ends of a magnet, and can look great layered and mixed-and-matched. Take a look at the slideshow for some of the hottest multi-metal accessories!

    Skinny Stackable Bracelets For Summer!

    image

I recently went for a browse at the Swarovski store and found that they had a great selection of bracelets that made me feel like I was visiting Japan. They were sooo adorably cute, it was hard for me to pick just one. I ended up deciding on the gold crystal-encrusted Green Bracelet ($125) because I just loved the little trees sparking in pink and purple and the reversible pink shiny epoxy on the other side. What's great about it too is that it's thin and dainty enough to wear with other bracelets and jewelry without having that piled on look. I love the idea of wearing a few different kinds of skinny bracelets all together to make up your own look! For other ideas, I also love the Euphoria Golden Shadow Bracelet, also from Swarovski, and the Lotus Bracelet from Nordstrom for a similar delicate look sans the bling. Check out the Coquette blog for more adorably chic trends for summer!

Video Style Steal: Go GaGa Over Ladylike Interpretations Of ...

Whether or not you're a fan of her futuristic, robot-like, pantsless persona, you can't deny that Lady GaGa is an interesting character (after all, anyone who can make Perez stop talking about the Octo-Mom for a few posts has to be at least somewhat intriguing). With electro-pop hits like "Just Dance," "Poker Face," and any of the other sound-alike tracks off her debut album The Fame, GaGa has gained a rapidly-growing following. While I certainly don't question the appeal of her catchy beats (although I'm still trying to figure out what on Earth a "disco stick" is), I'm thoroughly convinced that her talked-all-over-town popularity is due largely in part to her bizarre outfit choices and overall "Donatella Versace in outer space" gimmick. And while we at Stylehive would never promote public indecency by encouraging you to go without pants in public, you may be surprised to see just how inspirational some of Lady GaGa's futuristic fashion choices really are, as long as you don't attempt a literal translation of her shiny black catsuits and hooded capes. From practical patent leather booties to a chunky cocktail ring and a simple pair of liquid leggings, you can channel the artist's funky style (one bold piece at a time!) and still stop traffic without looking like a spaceship! Click "See Video" to watch her provocatively funky "Poker Face" vid, then check out the slideshow to see some wearable translations of her eccentric ensembles!
