Short Wedding Gowns Add A Playful Twist To Your Summer Ceremony!

Being glam for your wedding doesn't mean you need a ball gown. Since it's summer, why not embrace the warm weather with a short, sundress-looking gown? Having a short gown is definitely a more modern choice, as well as trendy, and may even be an easier pick to match with your flower girl. The long lines of your legs will elongate you where your dress falls short, making sure you are still the star of the show. Instead of keeping the heat in underneath a textile tent, you'll stay comfortable and cool in less fabric. The sundress look brings back a bit of youth to your style, complimenting your fun and carefree personality, and perhaps also gives your inner child a chance to relive her marital dreams. Love on those legs a little with a high-hemmed gown and you'll certainly enjoy an adorably wholesome and debonair summer wedding. Check out this slideshow for some suggestions!

Bermuda Shorts To The Rescue For Summer Style

    image
Alex Gambardella on May 28, 2009 5:22 AM PDT
Bermuda shorts are my summertime best friend. I wear shorts once in a while, but there's definitely a time and place for that. Beach, yes. Work, probably not. Which is why Bermuda shorts are so genius. They're basically a fashionable way to to hide your flaws, keep cool, and still achieve a dose of summer style. I love a wardrobe piece that allows you to be stylish, summery and professional. Pair your Bermuda shorts with a tunic blouse and a pair of embellished flat sandals. Not everyone should wear short shorts outside of the realm of surf and sand, so Bermudas are the way to go to reconcile the need to wear warm weather clothes with the need to be, um, modest. Head on over to TheFind for more summer style staples!

Undress A Bit WIth A Short Dress For Prom!

Hey, there, high school party girl! Have you found your prom dress yet? Finding a dress can be stressful, but when all a girl wants to do is have fun, take out the stress and try something a little more ... little. A fun short gown is a great way to grab much-wanted attention from the entire student body. Speaking of bodies, while the masses are covered head to toe in a traditional long ballroom gown, flashing those stems is hot way to flaunt your fine figure. Not only will your date be glad you decided to show your sweet-self off, less fabric to your dress means more money in your pocket, as long dresses can tend to be higher priced. A glammed-up gown modeled after the styles of the season's trendiest cocktail frocks will add playful flair to your prom. So, go ahead, party girl: Make your prom off the hook (or just off like a prom dress- kidding!) with a showy, short dress!

High, Low: Vintage Fashionistas Test The Hemline Theory

    image
Mary Kincaid on Mar 20, 2009 7:18 AM PDT
Why bother with all those boring financial indicators to predict the stock market's performance when you can just look at women's hemlines? The Hemline Theory says that when skirts are high, the market performs well, and when skirts are long, well, prepare for new lows. Silly? Perhaps. But it's as valid as whatever methods those CNBC pundits are using to predict what's going to happen -- they're less accurate than weathermen! And on the off chance that there is something to this Hemline Theory, perhaps we women can help things along and do our part to rescue the DJIA with our fashion choices. Even if you don't raise stock prices, you'll certainly raise eyebrows (in a good way!) when you sport one of these fab vintage mini dresses. Just click the slideshow to see the selection!

    Not So Boyish Boyshorts!

When women come to me looking for something to wear under their lower slung pants, I often suggest a boy short panty. They often feature a low rise and the cut is such that it usually prevents dreaded visible panty lines when paired with something tight. Many of these women wince, however, at the prospect of wearing something that might resemble their son's or little brother's underpants. While I'm certainly a fan of "sportier" boy shorts that loosely resemble men's underwear, there is a time and a place for everything. These more boyish boy shorts are great for casual wear under low rise jeans. For a less casual and more feminine lingerie look, there are plenty of boy short panties available. Often referred to as "French Knickers," these exquisitely feminine panties look nothing like your little brother's tightie-whities. Check out the slideshow for a look at boy short panties that run the gamut from tomboy to princess.
