    image
kate napleton on May 18, 2009 10:25 AM PDT
First dates are nerve-wracking in all kinds of ways. You're stressed if the guy will like you, if your hair is going to do that weird flippy thing it sometimes does, and most importantly, if your outfit is just right. Well, have no fear, for I have developed a guide to dressing for the occasion. These outfits are perfect for casual restaurants, movies, mini golf -- almost anytime! Remember to wear your most flattering jeans with this beaded tank from Banana Republic, and your outfit is sure to sparkle just as much as your eyes! Or for a cooler evening, pair this flirty ruffle wrap cardigan from Gap with white jeans or skinnies and boots for a great look! Personally, I think the best way to look cute and casually put together is by throwing on a cotton jersey dress and your favorite flats or sandals. Try this ruffle tube dress from Urban Outfitters, sure to hug your body in all the right places. Check out my slideshow for lots of casual first-date-fits!

If you're like me and shivering under blankets or still wearing sweaters and boots, now might be the best time to plan your spring break getaway. Whether you're going south of the border or perhaps the beaches of Miami, any place with sun and surf is worth going to! So you've got the location down, now it's time to plan what you're going to pack. When going on vacation, it's always tempting to try out a new style you wouldn't necessarily wear at home. However, the worst thing is to feel uncomfortable or self-conscious, during your well-deserved vacation no less! So stick to your style and stay with neutral colors you can mix and match. You can always be adventurous with the accessories you buy wherever you go, whether it's an armful of stacked bangles or a quintessential statement necklace.

Another hint: making a list of what to pack is important because it will lessen the chance of forgetting something. The last time I forgot to pack without using a list, I didn't bring socks or a toothbrush! Click read more to see my list of spring break travel essentials and check out the slideshow for more ideas. Just remember to leave extra space in your suitcase or pack an empty bag for all the goodies you'll be buying! Read on for my ten spring getaway must-haves!
