Sink Your Teeth Into These Seriously Scary Vampire Halloween ...

    image
Ida Hsiang on Oct 23, 2009 2:25 PM PDT
With the Twilight and True Blood sexy vampire phenomenon leading the way, these blood-sucking bad guys are back in full force. But even before the unruly hair and pale skin of Edward Cullen the soap opera story plot lives of those hot monsters from True Blood, vampires were still around and intriguing us regular mortals while scaring the living daylights out of us at the same time. It started with Dracula, and then there was Christopher Pike and Anne Rice who added sex appeal to their vampiric characters (who could forget Brad Pitt as a young, brunette bloodsucker?), and of course the ultra-buff Wesley Snipes in Blade. Now with Halloween fast approaching, there's never been a better time to dress-up as these Halloween classics. Choose the usual vampire get-up with the swirling cape, fake blood and drawn-in widow's peak, or put a modern day spin on it a la Twilight and don a cool leather jacket, lighten your skin tone by about 6 shades and pop in some fake fans. Bonus points for chiseled good looks and stubble. Check out the slideshow for what you'll need to have an undead Halloween!

Corsets, Not Just For The Bedroom!

    image
Ida Hsiang on May 26, 2009 10:19 AM PDT
Women want to look sexy. Elegant... and sexy. Sophisticated... and sexy. It doesn't matter what your style is, or what you are trying to convey through your clothing-- the bottom line is that you can always work a little something sexy into your look. The uniform for instant sexy would have to be corsets and bustiers. They were used in the 1800's because they gave women such a great shape. An uncomfortable one, but a great one. 1950's pin-ups are always shown in corsets, lacy satins and fishnets. They are the epitome of female sexiness. That's wonderful and all, but outside the bedroom and Halloween, where is it ever appropriate to don a skin-tight, laced-up, lacy, bosom-baring satin top? Nowhere, frankly. But now you can get the look and image of sexiness that corsets give, but still be comfortable and day appropriate. Where them under a cardigan and a great pair of jeans for a sexy and sweet weekend get-up, or under a blazer and with some great heels to add spark to the work place! School, work or meeting the boyfriend's parents, check out the slideshow for some great ideas that will leave you looking sexy but appropriate for anything that may come along in your busy day.

    Styles That Mesh Well!

    image
Ida Hsiang on May 21, 2009 4:20 PM PDT
Every time I see mesh clothing, the early 90's song, "I'm too sexy for my ..." starts playing in my head. However, I've been seeing this trend pop up everywhere from little independent boutiques to department stores and designer labels. When one pictures mesh on clothing, it is usually accompanied with leather, chains and possibly hand-cuffs! The new trend is taking over, however, and has found a way to be edgy without being over the top and totally chic and fashion forward without making the wearer feel like George Michael. From casual knit tops to sparkling dresses (and who could forget those hot YSL cage shoes??), mesh is the way to go. Try it in a trendy spring color or floral to make it more versatile and season-appropriate! Check out the slideshow for some ideas that could "mesh" well with your personal style!
