Hot In The Hive: Jee Vice Heated Sunglasses In Orange ...

Whenever I try and shop for sunglasses, I always see the usual black or tortoiseshell frames. Yawn! And at the risk of getting unfriended by all my best girlfriends on Facebook, I'm actually not the biggest fan of Sex and the City. But that doesn't mean I don't look up to Carrie and the gang for some major fashion inspiration especially for sunglasses. So on Sarah Jessica Parker's first day on the set back in her role as Carrie Bradshaw, she wore a fabulous purple tiered dress, some killer Louboutins, and orange shades. Whoa... orange shades? Leave it to the Sex and the City wardrobe department on finding a pair of orange sunglasses that look absolutely chic instead of looking like something my 7 year-old cousin would wear. Jee Vice has been around since 2003 making sunglasses the likes of Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Katherine Heigl, and Lindsay Lohan have all been seen wearing. So grab a pair of Jee Vice sunglasses and get ready to put your best face on for the paparazzi!

    Price: $170

Sex And The City Fashion Is Back!

Remember when that whole debate was going on about whether or not Carrie Bradshaw and the women of "Sex and the City" should have to suffer the perils of the economy along with the rest of us? They decided no. And we're kind of glad because we just got a peek at some of Sarah Jessica Parker's outfits for the movie sequel! Sure, we're super jealous we probably can't afford anything the ladies will be wearing on the Sex and the City sequel movie. But we're also pretty content just looking at their clothing. And drooling a bit too. That white Halston dress Carrie is wearing? We already want it. And we wouldn't really mind snagging the Christian Louboutin shoes and gold Chanel clutch along with it. Take a peek at LimeLife to see the rest of the droolworthy outfits SJP is wearing!

Which "Dancing With The Stars" Premiere Ensemble Was The Most ...

This past Monday, the much-anticipated two-hour premiere of Dancing With The Stars Season 8 aired in its full stage makeup and sequined glory, and boy was it an eyeful! The earliest stages of every season are always hectic, as host and judge commentary are cut short and dancers are practically shoved onstage to ensure enough time for all 13 unseasoned pairs to perform; meanwhile backstage commentator Samantha Harris appears progressively more awkward throughout the night as she clumsily searches her brain for more original questions for each panting contestant awaiting their scores. However, Season 8's premiere was considerably even more frenetic than usual, as contestants Holly Madison and Melissa Rycroft were announced as the last-minute replacements for injured drop-outs Jewel and Nancy O'Dell, and were pressured to perform with less than a week of preparation behind them. While audiences love to see certain stars shine, like graceful Shawn Johnson, studly but little-known "Sex And The City" star Gilles Marini, and the unexpectedly poised Lil' Kim, viewers also take pleasure in seeing others clunk around the floor Cloris Leachman style, like Apple whiz Steve Wozniak and Belinda Carlisle did this time around. Our favorite pro dancers faithfully lived up to expectations -- Edyta looking enviably toned as ever in her usual barely-there costumes and Maksim, in true "bad boy" form, already making his partner cry within the first couple weeks of practice (I think that might be a record, even for him). And then there were the costumes. Oh, the costumes -- you just never know what the stars will be sashaying across the dance floor in next, or just how far they'll take the Cha-Cha as an excuse to wear the most ridiculous or risque outfits on national television. I'll admit -- if I had a body like Kym Johnson's, there are plenty of onstage outfits I wish I had an excuse to wear just so I could strut down the street in an obscene display of self-confidence, but others were straight-up too "snazzy" for their own good. Vote below for which premiere outfit you think made the gaudiest first impression!

Mmm, Cupcakes... Save Money And Make Your Own!

We all indulged in our fair share of cupcakes when we were kids, but now the petite pastries are here to stay as a decidedly grown-up treat. But ever since viewers saw the ladies of "Sex and the City" enjoying cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery nearly 10 years ago, cupcakes have become somewhat of a chic indulgence, with cupcake "boutiques" all around the country specializing in the mini treats. From classic red velvet to exotic flavors like passionfruit, cupcakes can be savored by anyone young or old. The drawback to these cupcakes are the gourmet prices that accompany them- I once paid over $3 for a cupcake from a specialty bakery and the frosting tasted like glue! Since then, I've decided to try my hand at making my own cupcakes. Anyway, isn't part of the fun of cupcakes the decorating and then consequent consuming? So save some dough because I've found everything from a getting started book to darling gift boxes your friends will line up around your house for! To see more, just click the slideshow!

Get Sarah Jessica Parker's Timelessly Chic Look

    image

For the opening of the Broadway play "The American Plan", fashion all-star Sarah Jessica Parker rocked a look that blended elements of her "Sex and the City" fashion-forward alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw with a bit of timeless style a la Jackie Kennedy. SJP mixed in classic with funky wearing a cream coat atop a flirty 50's style polka dot dress and toting a purple suede bag. A pearl necklace, some glittery diamonds, and a classic pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps rounded out the mix of this elegant look. Thrown together this look is timeless and incredibly chic. Pulled apart, however, and each piece can work to create a myriad of ensemble options- that's the beauty of investing in the classics.
