R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress Beyonce Knowles is widely known for her powerful singing voice and formidable fashion sense, and 2008 may have been one of her busiest years yet! She was cast and filmed as Etta James in the upcoming movie Cadillac Records, got married to legendary hip hop artist Jay-Z, and just released her new album I Am ... Sasha Fierce. I'm tired just thinking about her hectic life! But she took some time to sit down with Seventeen magazine and gave us some words of wisdom. On feeling competitive with other artists while recording her new double-album, I Am ... Sasha Fierce, she says, "I feel like I'm my competition. I don't try to compete with other people. I just try to better myself. I go and watch everything that I've done. I have my YouTube days, when I watch every performance, and I listen to my music, and I watch my videos to figure out what I need to do, what I need to fix, and how to become a better singer."
