"Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."
--Shakespear's Macbeth (IV, i, 14-15)
This pendant encases a gorgeous smooth green tourmaline. The shape of the encased gem reminds me of a lizard or a dragons eye, hence the name.
This is a beautiful polished stone, shining in that middle green color that is so characteristic of tourmalines. While it has several inclusions, you can definitely see the light through it from both the front and the back of the pendant. The stone is actually a bead but the inclusions in the gem makes the hole difficult to see.
The tourmaline is captured with hematite glass seed beads and high quality metal coated silver beads.
