Recession Chic: Add Unique Art To Your Home On A Shoestring ...

I love flipping through home decor magazines and blogs to find my own home decorating inspirations. I recently went though all the tear outs I've saved and found that most of the pages I really liked featured rooms with lots of art. Whether it's hanging on the walls or standing on floors and tables, a room with some nice art definitely sends a cultured vibe. But anyone who's walked into a gallery knows that art isn't cheap, right? Nope! There's no need to spend your life savings on decorating your home with art. These days you can find meaningful and unique art at practically bargain basement prices. Show off your bring with some clear glass diamond shaped sculpture you can use as a paperweight or conversation piece. Short on space? A graceful bust can do double duty as a necklace holder as well. Check out my slideshow for more art you won't have to rob a museum to get!

Nest Style: "Milk Gone Bad" Lamps Are Good Non-Dairy Fun!

When they're turned off, Milk Gone Bad table lamps look like modern, minimalist pop-art sculpture. But when you turn them on, a colorful world of moldy monsters makes the lamps instant conversation pieces. The limited edition lamps are the first partnership between Italian design team Anatomic Factory (they did the milk carton, which ships flat) and illustrator Bombo (the creator of the cute moldy monsters). I ordered one for each of my kids - they'll look perfect in their bedrooms, and the light is so diffuse, they may even work as nightlights. Click SEE SLIDESHOW for all eight versions.
