8 Ways To Have A Fun Girl's Night In Without Spending A Ton

Now matter how often you tell yourself that you absolutely need to officially act on that saving money kick you've been ambitiously planning for months, somehow by the end of the week you find yourself deeper in the hole than you hoped. Even when you try to behave financially and opt for a thrifty Happy Hour in place of your more extravagant night-out plans, somehow your wallet comes home empty by the end of the evening! So if over-spending is inevitable once you step foot out of the house, is the only solution to simply lock yourself up in your house and count the tiles in your ceiling? No way! Sure, desperate times call for desperate measures, but life as a hermit is never the answer! Believe it or not, plenty of fun can be had right under your own roof, especially when you involve the right company! From do-it-yourself photoshoots, movie marathons, and a homemade potluck dinner, you may not have fun for free exactly, but you'll definitely save money and gas while staying comfy and getting the chance to tap into your creative side, too! Recession Chic: 10 Mall Store Finds That Look Way More ...

I'll take shopping on Shopbop or Revolve over a trip to the mall any day, but these days, even the abundance of steep discounts and final sales (tempting, but SO unfair) can't always lure my credit card out from my wallet. But, as it turns out, mall stores are often filled with a few gems of their own- you know, those pieces that elicit remarks like "you got that where?!" from friends and strangers alike. Case in point- my worn leather bomber jacket from Zara has been mistaken for a Mike & Chris on more than one occasion! And trust me, walking out of the mall with even just one or two of these new favorite items can feel just as good (if not better!) than ordering a similar piece from a designer boutique, especially if you consider you spent so much less, and when it comes down to it, most people won't even know the difference, as long as the item in question isn't a blatant knockoff (Forever 21, are you listening?). Remember that quality accessories can really pull together any outfit, so when it comes to saving and splurging, spend your money where it counts, i.e. not on that $85 Kain pocket tee that Express makes in better colors anyway for a whopping $24.50. I've searched the web for 10 pieces that look the part, but have almost shockingly low price tags. Click the slideshow to see them all!
