Hot In The Hive: Fred Flare's Mini Robo Vacuum

    image

The holidays are officially long over by now and whether you like it or not, it's time to get your head out of the clouds (or at least off the pillow) and back to work - whether it's at the office, in the classroom, or at home tackling that long list of new year's resolutions you set for yourself. If you're like me and require a clean desk and a clear mind in order to kick the procrastination bug and get your work done with no distractions, Fred Flare's Mini Robo Vacuum is here to serve as your knight in shining... plastic! This pocket-sized picker-upper comes in three different colors and with just the push of a button (and two AA batteries), he will roam your desk picking up crumbs, pencil shavings, or any other workstation debris that may be left behind from a long day on task (hey, productivity can be messy!). As long as you don't start making messes on purpose just to watch your handy new robo-friend in action, he may save you some valuable time - and accessorize your desk in the process!

    Price: $20
Who Found It: xgalexy was first to add the Mini Robo Vacuum to the Hive.

Style News: Shopping Robot Invades Japanese Mall, Purchases Hat

    image

I'm thinking it too-- where else would something like this happen? Evidently the shopbot, created by Tmsuk, was being controlled by an elderly woman on her cellphone, sitting her home miles away. The video-capable phone allowed her to see through the eyes of the robot so she- well, it- could browse. It finally settled on a hat which it was able to successfully purchase. For some reason I have images of arcade claw machines and Rosie from The Jetsons filling my mind. If it can try on swimsuits and hold my place in line for the 3G, I'm sold.. Source
