The recent economic turmoil has many of us downgrading to smaller apartments, and in turn desperately trying to make the most out of the limited space in our newly cramped quarters. If your canine companion has also had to suffer with you in your sardine can of a sublet and has been forced to relinquish his beloved comfy crate for the sake of space-saving, the pet-loving decor mavens at DenHaus are here to the rescue to provide your pooch pal a comfy little den while at the same time helping you save room and keep up the chicness of your new pad. The BowHaus dog crate not only serves as a tucked-away little napping place for your pint-sized pup, but with its sleek powder-coated steel design and trendy star-burst detail, it also doubles as an end table, bed-side stand, or for use wherever you see it functioning best! It appeals to both your doggie's desire for his own hideaway and your own need to conserve room and equip your place with some modern decor! Get one for own place at the BowHaus store, where you can even "furnish" the tiny den with a sleeping mat!

    Price: $599

Sleeping In the Doghouse Is A Good Thing At Idaho's Dog Bark ...

If you ever find yourself looking for a unique place to stay for a vacation with the ultimate dog lover (or maybe you're the dog lover), have I found the place for you! Welcome to the Dog Bark Park Inn Bed & Breakfast in Cottonwood, Idaho. Owners and chainsaw artists (yep, you read that right) Dennis & Frances built the dog-shaped B&B themselves and now have the world's largest beagle. Guests can enter the body of the beagle from a private second story deck. Go up another level and there's more sleeping space and a cozy alcove in the muzzle. You can even take classes from soap making to the basics of Dutch Oven cooking at the local college during your stay! While it's only open from April to November every year, it's never to early to plan your next vacation. And of course dogs are more than welcome to stay too! Interested in seeing more? Home Poll: Spoiled Rotten Pet "Necessities"

    image

The creativity of some people never ceases to amaze me. Pet owners in particular seem to have an extraordinary ability to conjure up remarkably inventive ways to spoil their furry (or scaled) little friends. And businesses are quickly catching to this growing consumer trend. Boutique pet stores have sprouted up seemingly everywhere, offering unique arrays of accessories and necessities with the pampered pet in mind. But nothing can compare to what is now available online- especially in the Hive. Some of the items I've come across are too cute, while other finds are a bit more, huh? really, for the cat? But since I'm all for creativity, I've compiled three of these inventive pet products straight from the Hive.

HiveSlides: DIY Stocking Stuffers for Kitty Cats and Doggie Wogs

When they're not peeing on your carpet or chewing up your Manolos, your fur children can bring you more happiness than people, food, drink, and reruns of 30 Rock - combined. So when it comes to the holidays, a big present under the tree for little Baxter von Tittlefoot is just not enough. But don't run to the local PetMart to get another been-there/done-that chew toy or catnip-filled hacky sack. Get a handmade gift this year, but do it today, because these things take time to ship, people!
