Now that the season has changed from cold, somber winter, to bright, breezy spring, it's also time to change up our manicures!
Ditch the navy blues and save the dark plums for next winter. This season is all about the neutral or bright nail!
If you're the type to wear a lot of colors, try out a beige or taupe tone to balance everything out. Or if you're all about the nudes and neutrals when it comes to getting dressed, add a spark of pep and brightness by trying a fun, saturated hue!
Here are the five must-have spring nail colors that you just have to try!
Beige/ Greige/ Taupe - It's clean, it's classic. A beige or taupe tone on nails elongates fingers and are versatile enough to go from day to night, jeans to dresses!
White - A stark white really pops, especially when worn with a tan! This color works best on shorter nails and it's bright, clean color is perfect for the sunny days ahead. White does stain easily, though, so apply a fresh coat every couple of days.
Bright Orange - This pop color is definitely the 'it' color of the season! It's popping up from purses to blazers, but if you're not ready to take the color full on yet, try it in a manicure. It adds just the right amount of color and goes perfectly with the color clash look spring, as well as compliments neutral tones perfectly!
Dove Grey/ Lavender - It's a soft tone with a sopisticated feel. Dove grey is a surprisingly versatile color while a touch more of purple in lavender hues makes for a more feminine appeal. Keep it shiny for full effect and apply a new top coat every couple of days!
Bright Cobalt - Need something with a little more pizazz? A bright blue is trendy and seasonal and is a great way to add color. Such a daring color makes a statement all on it's own, making it a cool color that goes with almost anything!
Sheer Nail Polishes That Pop Against That Summer Tan!

The best summer accessory is a tan. Whether it's from natural sun rays, or through the awesome invention of self-tanners, a golden hue adds warmth and sex-appeal and really pops when paired with the generally lighter summer color palette. While white and cream colored clothing have long been a summer staple for just that reason, another way to really help your tan pop is the use of sheer, light nail lacquers. Too icy for winter and too bland for spring, sheer, light nail polishes are just the thing for the sunny season. They make tans seem tanner and manicures look more pretty and polished (pun intended), but still allow you to indulge in the summer trend of bright and neon colored apparel. A sheer polish in a creamy nude or translucent white is clean, elegant and extremely versatile. Or try a tint of color like a pale blue or pastel purple to add a subtly chic and trendy edge to your summer look. You only need a coat or two to get this look just right, just remember to add a layer of a high-shine top coat every few days to keep manicures looking fresh and stylish! This work looks great on toes too, but they may need an extra coat. Click on the slideshow for some of my favorite sheer, light nail colors to get the most out of your summer tan!
