Wear An Outfit Inspired by Laduree French Macarons!

In honor of Bastille Day which takes place on July 14th, we take inspiration from one of our favorite Parisian destinations, Laduree, the patisserie made famous by its delectable macarons. The luscious, crisp little cakes are filled with smooth creamy centers with flavors like jasmine, mango, bergamot, caramel with salted butter, red fruits, and orange blossom, just to name a few. The colors of these little treats are worthy of a trend story touting summer's pastel infused fashions, many of which are marked down to make room for fall arrivals. So indulge in a sweet treat whether it be a macaron or pastel Elizabeth and James blouse, which you can pair with white jeans. Or how about these pretty Maloles flats? They'll look charming with a fluttery silk summer dress. Even everyday basics like skinny jeans or classic aviators will look perfectly lovely for a quick jaunt to the patisserie for a box of what else? Pastel colored macarons, of course! Inspired by a friend's shiny new pair of Jeffrey Campbell stacked heels in the most refreshing shade of mint, I got to thinking. Who says pastels are only suited for your Easter basket? We tend to associate pastels like eggy yellows and dainty pinks with the early springtime, but what's more summery than a bowl of mint ice cream or a cloudless blue sky or the aqua tint of the ocean on a perfect day at the beach? Creamy cool tones are about as fresh as colors come and are the perfect calming, crisp alternative to obnoxious 90s neons. The stars predict warm weather ahead, so surrender to the the summer spirit and get your hands on some cool-toned pastels! For example, Leos can swap their trusty LBD for a more daring satiny spearmint number and Libras will ditch their old wayfarers for a fun pair of lavender-hued frames. Check the slideshow and see if your sign is destined to don lilac, aqua, or mint!

Easter Dresses In Pretty Pastels And Springtime Florals ...

One would think that growing up Catholic would automatically give me a fierce aversion to all Easter occasion clothing, given all my unpleasant childhood memories of being forced into a yearly festive ensemble -- complete with an itchy tulle dress, lace gloves, a ridiculous straw hat, and too-tight Mary Janes -- and basically fidgeting through church looking like a human doily. However, now that I'm old enough to dress myself (or rather, sensible enough to pick out my own family occasion-appropriate attire), I can't help but adore all the quintessential Easter prints, palettes, and ruffles that allow you to combine all things girlie and flirty without looking strangely out of character or like you were dressed by your grandma. Whether you need a more conservative option like a boat-neck tie-waisted dress by Anne Klein for a full-on holiday celebration with the church-going fam, or don't celebrate the occasion at all and are just looking for a fun floral print like a flirty chiffon mini dress from Forever 21, the possibilities are endless when you pair with a cardigan for extra coverage when needed, or change from flats to heels to go from day to night. Check out the slideshow for some of my favorite springy sheaths for this Easter season!
