Hot In The Hive: Alessi 'Carlo' Ghost Bottle Cap

    image
Ida Hsiang on Oct 30, 2009 6:20 AM PDT
You're never too old to celebrate Halloween! While you may not be looking for a crazy costume party to go crash, a ghoulish get-together with friends may be just the thing for some Halloween fun. The decor is done, the scarily tasty menu has been decided and your outfit for your Halloween night is appropriately black and orange. A few bottles of wine to pop open and you're all set. Don't forget to grab Carlo! He's a ghostly little guy that is too cute to be scary and loves to sit on top or your wine bottles as a festive bottle cap (if, for some reason, you don't finish all the wine in one night). Designed by Alessi, the Carlo bottle cap comes in a variety of colors and is cheap enough so you can buy a few to add to your Halloween fun. You did finish all the wine? They're just as cute and festive sitting around the table and mingling with the guests!

    Price: $9.00

Looking to plan your friend's bridal shower this summer and all out of creative ideas? Well, if you're in the Chicago area, Julia Failey has opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Her line of nature-inspired jewelry, worn by the likes of Kate Bosworth and Vanessa Minnillo, is available for you to customize. For any special occasion- from bachelorette parties to Mother's Day- you can have her deliver to your door everything needed to make one-of-a-kind pieces. You choose the project (such as earrings, bracelets, or necklaces) and they bring over everything that you need to create it such as clasps, beads, and charms. Then your guests leave the bridal shower or bachelorette party with a one-of-a-kind hand made piece of jewelry. Sounds much better than leaving with cheesy lingerie or edible underwear! Which Whitney Art Party Look Gets Your Bid?

    image
Lisanne Silverman on Jun 20, 2009 9:18 AM PDT
The Whitney Contemporaries Art Party And Auction held last Wednesday at NYC's Skylight left me with two burning questions- one, isn't every Whitney party an art party? And two, what was up with Hana Soupkova's dress? In case you weren't already aware, the Contemporaries are a group of art patrons who support the Whitney's dedication to up-and-coming talent and innovation. They're also granted full access to the NYC art scene-- not such a bad gig. The event was essentially a who's who of the dynamic New York social scene, with Lydia Hearst and Tinsley Mortimer mingling amongst the likes of model Hilary Rhoda and actress Camilla Belle. I've narrowed down the most noteworthy looks to a mere three- read on to vote and let us know which look get your bid! Photo credit: PR Photos

Breathtaking seascapes and beaches, eccentric cultures, and the planet's biggest party destination? What more could you ask for! Summer in Ibiza really means season of soiree, as the beginning of June marks the kickoff for the largest and craziest nightclubs in the world. There's no excuse for skipping the nightlife here, with beach bars for daytime playtime, hot spots to sip and watch the sunset, raging parties for nighttime nonsense, and after party bars that extend the hours of the semi-regulated closing time of 6am. If you're one who's gotta have their party and their getaway, The Insotel Fenicia Prestige is just the place to get the luxury time you need in between flitting about the boundless social scene. This first class resort features its own top-notch bars and restaurants, spectacular views and services, and a spa to spoil you senseless, all making for a secluded kind of fun for even the most zealous of party people to recuperate. With suites galore, who could say no to amenity lists featuring luxuries like "terrace" and "hydromassage shower" epitomized by the surroundings of this immensely beautiful island? The hotel's location says it all, close enough to the hot spots, yet away enough to tour Ibiza's natural beauty. With exhausting hidden beaches and coves to explore via Vespa, even the party-pooper will flip over the incredible Balearic island adventure in store within the outskirts of the resort. Whether it be club or cove hopping, this quickly-navigable, small but bustling hotspot of an island will be the intoxicating getaway you've been craving!
