Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1963: the tall, once wooden chairs were exclusively designed for the professors at St. Catherine's College in Oxford. Two years later, in 1965, the Oxford chairs were put into production as upholstered, not wooden chairs. Over the years, they grew thicker and changed in appearance. 40 years after the introduction, the Oxford chairs were revitalized and today the look is much more true to the original.
