Black And Blue and Chic All Over

Wearing blue and black together... how can you? Isn't that that one of the number one fashion faux-pas? Slowly but surely all of your grandma's old fashion cliches, like not wearing white after Labor Day and not wearing blue and black in the same outfit are quickly being thrown to the way side -- and not a moment to soon. Take your basic black and turn it into something way beyond boring by adding shot of bright blue. A Prussian blue top layered under a sleek black jacket and some tailored menswear-inspired trousers give you a look that goes right from the Gucci runway to your office. With holiday party season coming up, stand out of the crown with an LBBD, a little blue and black dress. Add a skinny blue belt to any old black dress, or even better, add on a blue and black necklace or scarf and you're good to go. Looking to splurge a little? Get "Mad Men"-sexy with Proenza Schouler's t-shirt bustier dress that is the perfect combo of girl next door-style t-shirt and a va-va-voom bustier dress. However you wear it, being black and blue is no longer a bad thing! Check out the slideshow for some more ways to hit the trend.

Ha Ha Halloween: Outrageously Funny Halloween Costumes!

Although no one ever seems to tire of the sexy devils, bumble bees, and bunnies skimping around town on Halloween, the outfits that take the prize are the ones that make us laugh. The guys always get me to smile with their kissing booths and giant banana costumes, but a girl with the confidence to goof around with her look makes a memorable impression! A route certain to turn heads is the creative one, and while they all can't be found in stores (like last year's Sarah Palin and Joe The Plumber), if you can cue in to some of pop culture's latest cover-story conundrums or recent icons (think, literally, Rachel Zoe), you're a goofy god. Sure to flaunt your funny bone, however, is a classic like some num-nums or a young one, and a slew of other clever, time-appropriate ensembles! Yeah, the overused pirate or pixie gear this Halloween will look cute, but nothings cuter than the gall of a girl who can walk around town wrapped in a giant gorilla hand.! Click through this slideshow to see some of the funniest costumes to goof about in this year.

Babes In Boo-land: Halloween Costumes For Little Ones!

At age one, I was a mouse, and front-page news for winning my small town's Halloween costume contest. While my fifteen minutes of fame has come and gone, there may be a little one in your life who has a winning future too. Yes, sometimes toddlers don't like costumes -- or clothes in general, for that matter -- but wrestling them into an over-sized, plush lobster may just be worth the hassle. It's probably true that junior won't remember his or her first anything let alone the first October 31st, but the pictures will live to tell the story of a good costume. The best thing about these costumes is that they're timeless, and certainly reusable for the next little nugget that will fit into them. Don't make them too scary though -- the thought of getting a toddler into a costume is frightening enough. Click through the slideshow for some adorable Halloween costumes for babies!

Feather Report: New iPhone App To Help You Get Dressed!

Fashion + Weather = Feather. My friend Melisa of Feather Report and The Lil Bee has just launched the Feather Report iPhone app. Look to it as your own portable, personal style consultant. You'll never have to look out the window and wonder, "What am I gonna wear today?" It's rainy today in SF and this is the outfit that was picked out for me. I love it! What's great is that each of the items listed in the outfit for today are linked so you can purchase them directly from your iPhone. If I like today's outfit, I can easily save it to my favorites with a press of a button. I love to get exposed to new pieces of clothing and how to put them all together. Using a GPS weather tracker, Feather Report serves up a new outfit to your iPhone each day, based on your specific location. Outfits are categorized based on body types, occasions, and weather patterns. You can also search for outfits based on your individual needs such as Date Night, Out with the Girls, etc. If you're traveling, get weather forecasts for your upcoming trips. Sounds cool? Get a chance to win the Feather iPhone app for free by clicking over to our friends at Coquette!

    CollegeCandy Wishlist: Denim, Or Sweats?

When it comes to many things in life, including fashion, I'm a fan of odd, quirky things that leave people asking questions. No, I'm not going to start wearing fairy wings like one of the girls on What Not To Wear, but I did pick up a pair of pants last week that totally fit the bill. They were a pair of skinny denim-like pants by Fragile that I scored at T.J. Maxx for $17, but normally retail for $29 (sweet!) at Hot Topic, a store I haven't stepped into since my friend's goth days in high school. Anyway, the pants look like jeans, but function somewhat like sweatpants in that you basically pull them on and button the single button at the top. I would say that they are comparable to denim leggings, although I prefer these Fragile pants since they look more like jeans and aren't as skintight. These pants are definitely the answer to every college girl's fashion dilemma: chic sweatpants? That you can wear to class? And not look sloppy? I think it's time we all made a run to Hot Topic! Head over to CollegeCandy for more wishlist-worthy wardrobe staples!

Enter To Win Workout Outfits From Body Language!

Let's face it- no matter how much you tell yourself that you love to work out, there are days when the treadmill looks like a torture device. Honestly, thirty minutes on a conveyor belt going nowhere isn't exactly the best motivator (though come to think of it, watching Paula Deen dump a Costco-sized package of butter into a pan on the attached television screen kind of is- anyone else work out while watching Food Network?). But if your exercise ensemble consists of high school gym shorts and a ratty college tee, you may be wearing the source of your less-than-stellar outlook. In other words, get some cute gym clothes! Body Language sportswear is a line of exercise apparel unlike any other- it's comfortable, functional, and actually sexy if you can believe it (and once you see what they're giving away, you will). Think along the lines of flattering camis, tops with sexy strap details, fold over shorts, and colors that don't scream 1985. They've even been featured on Desperate Housewives! We've teamed up with Body Language to give two lucky winners the best workout clothes they'll ever own- read on to find out how you can score a set for yourself!
