Hand-blown with applied beak, wings and crown. The 'foot' was drawn from the body. The body was made with cased crystal, a milky inner layer, a colorless center layer, and final layer of mottled creamy white and burnt browns with a soft satin finish. The folded wings are satinized smoke grey. The crown in smoke blackish blue with lighter blues feathered in. The long beak is a dark amethyst. Semi-opaque glass. When light is directly behind the Heron it will shine through revealing the burnt brown/orangish color, makes it glow.
