Work It Out In AW77, The Greatest Sport Hoodie From Nike

    image
Lisanne Silverman on Oct 5, 2009 10:16 AM PDT
You work hard- so should your clothes. The Nike AW77 hoodie, named for Athletics West (Nike's elite track and field club that year) is Nike's hardest working hoodie yet. Crafted from water-resistant French looped cotton, it's supremely comfortable and durable. The head cushioning, fully lined multi-paneled scuba hood zips up to your chin to block out the elements. Day after day, wear after wear, the ribbed cuffs and waistband hold their shape, and the body and hood will keep their form-- they're designed by athletes, for athletes, after all. Not one detail has been spared, from the windproof zippers to the top-shelf pockets and drawcords. It's quilted with insulation for warmth where you need it, and not where you don't. The interior of the hoodie is clean, with no exposed edges, so it's all about comfort. Meet your new favorite hoodie at Nike, and show it what you're made of.

Inspired by a friend's shiny new pair of Jeffrey Campbell stacked heels in the most refreshing shade of mint, I got to thinking. Who says pastels are only suited for your Easter basket? We tend to associate pastels like eggy yellows and dainty pinks with the early springtime, but what's more summery than a bowl of mint ice cream or a cloudless blue sky or the aqua tint of the ocean on a perfect day at the beach? Creamy cool tones are about as fresh as colors come and are the perfect calming, crisp alternative to obnoxious 90s neons. The stars predict warm weather ahead, so surrender to the the summer spirit and get your hands on some cool-toned pastels! For example, Leos can swap their trusty LBD for a more daring satiny spearmint number and Libras will ditch their old wayfarers for a fun pair of lavender-hued frames. Check the slideshow and see if your sign is destined to don lilac, aqua, or mint!

Spring is soon around the corner and you're wondering how you€™re going to afford some new duds to update your wardrobe. Well when times are tough, the savvy get shopping €¦ at consignment stores that is. Consignment stores are a great place to sell some of your own stuff to make room for new, or just to go browse for some great deals. I€™ve rounded up some of the best stores from coast to coast to get everything from Gucci gowns to J.Crew suits; Miu Miu sandals to Nike Dunks at a fraction of the price.

    New York
Tokyo 7, 64 E 7th St, New York, NY: A hidden gem in the East Village. A perfect mix of old and new; this store tends to lean more towards €œdowntown€ savvy shopper looking for that off kilter designer piece at fraction of the price. Shoes are often a bit worn, but worth looking at since you can sometimes find a winner.

Ina, Multiple locations in Manhattan and an online boutique: Mostly designer at about a quarter of the price. A well edited store of slightly worn high end designer, but beware this is the cast off place for editors and models, so its rare to find goods over a size 4. Bags go quickly and are still expensive, shoe selection is great- and most are only slightly worn.

Valentine's Day Sneakers With A Whole Lot Of Heart & Sole

    image

If you thought Valentine's Day footwear was just about red high heels, gravity-defying stilettos, and cutesy pink ballet flats, you must not be the sneaker freak I am! This Valentine's Day, all our favorite athletic shoe brands are showing us their romantic side (and in some cases, their cartoon-y and kitschy sides too) with bright red and pink color combos and heart patterns galore. From Nike Dunks embellished with X's and O's to bold red floral Pumas, these flashy footwear are bound to give your feet plenty of love and support (and attention) this February 14th! While they're not exactly year-round practical, and quite frankly I'm not sure even I would be caught dead in any high-top conversation-heart-covered creation, you can't deny that these sneaks are adorably festive, not to mention a cheerful addition to any hardcore collector's closet display. Plus, you have to admit - they're not that much crazier than the usual in-your-face color combos found in lines by the likes of Nike, Vans, and Creative Recreation. Whether you're bold enough to show them off on the street or just like to keep them polished on display, check out the slideshow for more sweet V-Day sneakers!
