Get Vampire Diaries' Actress Kayla Ewell's Hot Pink Party Look!

"Vampire Diaries" actress Kayla Ewell isn't afraid to rock hot pink on the red carpet. The dress she donned at a special screening of "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" at the 2009 AFI Fest Opening Night Gala is proof that you can wear neons and metallics in the same outfit without looking like you're headed to a rave. The dress (which I am unfortunately unable to identify, despite a frantic Google search) was part pink, part pared-down, thus providing an ideal backdrop for her stunning accessory of choice: a pile of knotted, dangling silver chains. Black nail polish and a silver clutch added the party-perfect finishing touches. The main point to remember in making this look work is to keep a balance- the metallic part of the dress was on the matte side, while the necklace brought a flashy element. Get Erin O'Connor's Neon Look At London Fashion Week

The fall runways were splattered with bright hues and neon shades. Erin O'Connor showed us how to do it best at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label fashion show during London Fashion Week, by adding just a splash to an all black or neutral outfit. The model strutted her stuff front row at the show in a sexy fitted sequin blazer and with some slouchy black trousers. However, what took her outfit from chic to extraordinary was the large neon pink purse. Neon can be a hard trend to tackle (like the Michael Kors highlighter yellow trapper hat) but when done in small doses it can really pack a punch with out making you look like your dressed for an '80s party. Check out the slideshow for how to get Erin's look as well as some other neon accessories. Photo credit: PR Photos

Wearable Neon Makeup Shades, No Rave Required

While we've thankfully moved past that '90s flashback of fluorescent clothing and accessories, it's important to note that neons haven't been banished from the planet for good -- they've just relocated to the beauty department! I know, the idea sounds terrifying, but used with the right shades and a subtle hand, bright pops of color are an emerging makeup trend that's making feminine features stand out in a feisty, fresh and modern way. While trying to shed her goody-goody Gossip Girl stereotype and make a name for herself as her punk band's frontwoman, Taylor Momsen has been spotted flaunting neon lips and smoky eyes -- but you don't have to be a rock goddess in training to pull it off. Sticking to one feature at a time, you can go with an electric blue eyeliner to make your peepers pop, or highlight your summer tan with contrasting tangerine nails, for example. Take a look at the slideshow for some wearable neon shades!

The Hottest Headphones To Help You Tune Out In Style

Confession: I'm a girl who practically has her mp3 player permanently wired to her eardrums. In fact, I've been known to skip class whenever my iPod was too low on battery to survive the walk (though I don't condone such naughty behavior). As a result, I know all about the importance of a nice, stylish pair of headphones. So what if you're in the market for a new pair but just don't have $300 to spring for those fancy-schmancy Dr. Dre ones? Luckily for us audiophile fashionistas, over-the-ear headphones and the more discreet in-ear earbuds are becoming more and more prominent in their use as fashion statements with their sleek designs and wild colors and embellishments, and they still provide excellent sound quality without costing a small fortune. Go big and bold with a cushy neon pair like Aerial 7's Matadors or keep it sleek with a subtly funky pair of earbuds by Elecom. Check the slideshow for a selection of headphones so hip, you might start wearing them around your neck just to coordinate with your sneakers!

Think PINK this summer as we transition into fall. The '80s influence continues and we are loving the sizzling hot hues, especially neon hot pink. The stark contrast of neon pink with black looks fresh, fun, and girlie for clothing and accessories. Pair a hot pink shell blouse with an oversized black boyfriend blazer and skinny jeans, or go from head to toe in a hot pink asymmetric dress. There are also loads of bright pink accessories such as this cheeky Alexander McQueen clutch, neon pink belt, or pink thong sandals if you're looking for just a dash of neon color. There are SO many reasons why we're excited about the "Gossip Girl" spinoff, starring Krysten Ritter and Brittany Snow. The cast, the setting, the prospect of meeting hunky younger Rufus and the mysterious Mr. Van der Woodsen... after seeing photos from the show's first episode, though, we've got another thing to add to the list of things to look forward to: amazing '80s fashion. Yes, the decade that so obviously inspires "Gossip Girl" fashion designer Jenny "neon" Humphrey is on full display in the series premiere. You can't help but be reminded of all the crazy things you wore in the '80s!
Be sure to check out our friends at SOAPnet for the rest of the article, plus a slideshow with more exclusive photos from the spin-off set!
