Watercolor prints have been declared one of the "it" trends for spring, from Coco Rocha sashaying in a demure rose-spattered A-line dress in H&M's Spring campaign to red carpet regulars like Vanessa Williams adding an artsy touch to their ensembles with watercolor print clutches, shoes, and scarves. A subtler alternative to bold prints, watercolor motifs are still dramatic in their own way and add an avant-garde yet feminine sensibility to any outfit. Walter, Elizabeth and James, Tracy Reese, and Black Halo are among the designers who have included graceful watercolor-inspired pieces in their spring collections. Apart from its visual merits, what's also fab about this trend is that it comes without an expiration date. Like quality art, it can be kept and sported for years and not appear dated at all. Careful not to overdo it, though: one impressionist piece per outfit makes the best impression.
